In a pathetic Thursday morning announcement in front of the Supreme Court, a gathering of radical Democrats from the House and Senate announced a bill that would pack the court with four liberal justices in an attempt to undo the conservative majority on the highest bench. It was a sleazy plot that would undo over 150 years of precedent, but it apparently didn’t rise to the level of newsworthy for the CBS Evening News, since they gave it ZERO airtime a few hours later.
Over on ABC’s World News Tonight, the Democratic Party’s attack on our democracy only garnered 24 seconds from the normally sensationalist, anchor David Muir. “Earlier today, some Congressional Democrats introduced a bill to add four more justices of the high court, accusing Republicans of, quote, ‘stealing’ seats to build a conservative majority,” he reported.
At a press conference today, Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) said she wouldn’t bring it up for a vote just yet but supported President Biden’s commission looking at the idea. But Muir decided to lie about that. “But tonight, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi saying she won't support it, saying she won't bring that bill to expand the court to the floor, saying the President's infrastructure bill is her priority,” he claimed.
But there was a rather surprising tone to the reporting from the third and final of the big three broadcasters, NBC Nightly News.
As he ended the A-block, anchor Lester Holt noted the Democratic bill was a “controversial proposal,” and introduced the segment by telling viewers the plan “to expand the number of justices on the Supreme Court” was “sparking a backlash tonight.”
There was also curious reporting from White House correspondent Peter Alexander as he called out the “progressive Democrats” behind the bill. At one point, he seemed to throw a stick into the spokes of Massachusetts Senator Ed Markey (D), who claimed he was trying to “balance” the court:
MARKEY: We are here today because the United States Supreme Court is broken. It is out of balance. And it needs to be fixed.
ALEXANDER: That Democratic plan would make the court liberal after former President Trump's picks created a 6-3 conservative majority.
In the past, the liberal media stayed away from acknowledging the ideological bent of Democratic nominees to the Supreme Court; opting to only bludgeon conservatives with theirs. Like they did with Justice Amy Coney Barrett.
Alexander also noted that Biden himself once called court-packing a “boneheaded idea,” and played a soundbite of late Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg speaking out against it to NPR. “If anything would make the court appear partisan, it would be that,” she said.
As for sharing Republican opposition, he reported that the right was “slamming it as a dangerous liberal power grab” and played this scathing comment from Arkansas Senator Tom Cotton (R): “I can tell you what court-packing is, though. It will be the end of the Supreme Court’s legitimacy and the end of the rule of law in America.”
“The pressure on President Biden from progressive Democrats is likely only to grow with his court commission expected to release its report this fall,” he warned.
The downplaying and omission of the Democratic Party scheme to pack the Supreme Court with liberals were made possible because of lucrative sponsorships from Dell on ABC and Purina on CBS. Their contact information is linked so you can tell them about the biased news they fund.

7:13:03 p.m. Eastern [1 minute 27 seconds]LESTER HOLT: There’s a lot of talk right now in Washington over the idea of court-packing. Some progressive Democrats today calling to expand the number of justices on the Supreme Court. And it is sparking a backlash tonight. Peter Alexander tells us more.

PETER ALEXANDER: It would be a monumental change for an institution that has not added justices in more than 150 years. But tonight several progressive Democrats say they want to increase the number of seats on the Supreme Court from 9 to 13.
SEN. ED MARKEY (D-MA): We are here today because the United States Supreme Court is broken. It is out of balance. And it needs to be fixed.
ALEXANDER: That Democratic plan would make the court liberal after former President Trump's picks created a 6-3 conservative majority.
President Biden as a senator criticized court-packing as a “bonehead idea.” But just last week, launched a commission to study adding more seats. Speaker Nancy Pelosi won't bring the Democratic proposal to the floor but did not rule it out in the future.
SPEAKER NANCY PELOSI (D-CA): I think it's an idea that should be considered.
ALEXANDER: The late Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg opposed it.
JUSTICE RUTH BADER GINSBURG: If anything would make the court appear partisan, it would be that.
ALEXANDER: And Republicans are slamming it as a dangerous liberal power grab.
SEN. TOM COTTON (R-AR): I can tell you what court-packing is, though. It will be the end of the Supreme Court’s legitimacy and the end of the rule of law in America.
[Cuts back to live]
ALEXANDER: The pressure on President Biden from progressive Democrats is likely only to grow with his court commission expected to release its report this fall. Lester?
HOLT: All right, Peter, thank you.
