America LAST: Nets Skip Biden Advisor Advocating to Withhold Vaccine

November 11th, 2020 8:24 PM

The coronavirus pandemic was the top story from the broadcast networks Wednesday evening as they reported on the increases in cases, hospitalizations, and deaths. They noted some hospitals were being overwhelmed and that vaccine candidates from Pfizer and Moderna were wrapping up their final studies. What went unmentioned was the fact that a top COVID advisor for President-Elect Joe Biden was demanding that the vaccine be withheld from Americans and given to other countries first.

And while the CBS Evening News anchor Norah O’Donnell was talking about how the coronavirus was “uncontrollable” in the United States, and NBC Nightly News touted the radical progressives being eyed for cabinet positions, none of the networks touched on the other proposal coming from Biden’s COVID advisors: locking down the entire country for at least a month.

The Fox News Channel’s Special Report made sure to tell viewers about the apparent Biden plan to put America last.

“On the heels of this week's positive news about a coronavirus vaccine candidate, there are growing concerns about possible hoarding of the drug when it comes,” announced anchor Bret Baier. “In fact, one advisor to the President-Elect thinks some Americans should have to wait until people in other countries have access to the vaccine first.”

In the report from correspondent Casey Stegall, the outlet reported that Biden advisor, “Dr. Zeke Emanuel, suggests government should not give its own citizens absolute priority. Adding, the U.S. should distribute vaccines globally before it's available to all Americans. The same with scarce therapeutics like Eli Lilly's newly-approved antibody treatment.”

That’s right, the networks refused to report how Biden advisors were advocating to put “all Americans” on the back burner to the rest of the world.

On top of that, they ignored a CNBC report (that’s right, NBC was in the best position to cover this) that showed how Biden advisor, Dr. Michael Osterholm wanted a NATIONAL lockdown lasting “four to six weeks.” And in that time, “the government could borrow enough money to pay for a package that would cover lost income for individuals and governments during a shutdown.”

A nationwide lockdown would drive the number of new cases and hospitalizations down to manageable levels while the world awaits a vaccine, he told Yahoo Finance on Wednesday,” CNBC reported.

Citing Osterholm’s writings in a New York Times op-ed, CNBC noted he had said: “The problem with the March-to-May lockdown was that it was not uniformly stringent across the country. For example, Minnesota deemed 78 percent of its workers essential.”

Osterholm’s shining examples were the national lockdowns in Australia and New Zealand. Both countries were subsequently subjected to mass unrest as people took to the streets to protest the lockdowns.

In contrast, ABC, CBS, and NBC touted governors threatening their citizens with new rounds of lockdowns and economic shutdowns if they didn’t behave. And none of them have been critical of New York Governor Andrew Cuomo’s promise to withhold the Pfizer vaccine from his constituents.

The blackout of the America last philosophy of Biden’s advisors was made possible because of lucrative sponsorships from Bayer on ABC, Fidelity on CBS, and Ensure on NBC. Their contact information is linked so you can tell them about the biased new they’re funding. CBS Evening News has also asked people to text Norah at this number: (202) 217-1107.

BRET BAIER: On the heels of this week's positive news about a coronavirus vaccine candidate, there are growing concerns about possible hoarding of the drug when it comes. In fact, one advisor to the President-Elect thinks some Americans should have to wait until people in other countries have access to the vaccine first.

All of this comes as the infection numbers here in the U.S. continued to surge and one state, Texas, has become the first to top the 1-million mark. Correspondent Casey Stegall takes a look tonight from Dallas.

CASEY STEGALL: Meantime, in a global race for a vaccine, there are concerns about countries hoarding their supplies. One of President-Elect Joe Biden's coronavirus advisors, Dr. Zeke Emanuel, suggests government should not give its own citizens absolute priority. Adding, the U.S. should distribute vaccines globally before it's available to all Americans. The same with scarce therapeutics like Eli Lilly's newly-approved antibody treatment.
