As the liberal media were busy trying to gaslight the world into thinking that alternate names for the coronavirus (Wuhan Virus or Chinese Coronavirus) were racist, Tuesday’s CBS Evening News sought to help out China’s propaganda campaign and claim that they “attacked” the virus. In reality, China spent critical weeks pouring more resources into trying to stop information about the virus from spreading rather than trying to stop the virus itself.
On top of all that, neither CBS nor their broadcast competitors (ABC and NBC) thought it was worth mentioning that China had ordered multiple American newspapers to leave the country.
CBS Asia correspondent Ramy Inocencio began his report by touting how South Korea had managed to get ahead of the virus with expansive testing and no lockdowns. “Meanwhile, in China, the government attacked,” he praised. “In the epidemic's heart of Wuhan, city officials built two hospitals with more than 2,000 beds in the span of a few weeks. To stop the spread, a massive lockdown radiated out to nearly 60 million people across central China…”
Though, he would then admit that “strong-arm tactics were used against people who refused to wear masks, with some beaten while others were locked into their homes, forcefully quarantined.” But, as if anything the communist government said was to be trusted, Inocencio boasted that China only had one new case of the virus on Tuesday and was charging outsiders for medical care:
And new incredible stat out of China just today. The country reported just one, only one new domestic coronavirus case. There were 20 more, but those were imported from people traveling in from overseas. And anyone doing that gets to face a mandatory 14-day quarantine, and that's on their own dime.
But, back here, in reality, China was not a hero. As the BBC reported back on February 6, the Chinese government tried to suppress news of the outbreak and even assailed the doctor who tried to warn the world:
Dr. Li [Wenliang], 34, tried to send a message to fellow medics about the outbreak at the end of December. Three days later police paid him a visit and told him to stop. He returned to work and caught the virus from a patient. He had been in hospital for at least three weeks.
In addition to being told to lie about having the virus, which eventually killed him, Dr. Li “was summoned to the Public Security Bureau where he was told to sign a letter. In the letter he was accused of ‘making false comments’ that had ‘severely disturbed the social order.’”
And in recent days, the Chinese propaganda machine was hard at work spreading conspiracy theories that claimed the virus started in the United States, instead of one of their dirty food markets. This was who CBS Praised.
Interestingly, Inocencio’s Twitter was filled with retweeted reports about China kicking out American journalists, but not a word was uttered in his report. Meanwhile, on the Fox News Channel’s Special Report, anchor Bret Baier noted: “The Trump administration called the decision yet another step toward depriving the Chinese people and the world of access to true information about China.”

March 17, 2020
6:08:05 p.m. EasternBRET BAIER: China says it will revoke the credentials of Americans at three U.S. newspapers in response to new U.S. restrictions on Chinese media. The Foreign Ministry wants journalists working for The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal, and The Washington Post, who’s credentials are due to expire before the end of 2020 to hand back there press cards within ten days.
That move comes after the Trump administration designated five Chinese media outlets as foreign missions and restricted the number of Chinese who could work for them. Late today, the Trump administration called the decision yet another step toward depriving the Chinese people and the world of access to true information about China.
