CBS and ABC continued ignoring former Vice President Joe Biden’s gaffes he made Thursday while on the campaign trail, one being similar to a racist comment he made in the past about President Obama. NBC’s Today show was the only network to mention this particular gaffe, and they only covered it so they could spin it as President Trump’s fault.
If Joe Biden was a Republican the media would be dedicating round-the-clock news coverage focused on his mental health

On Today Friday morning, MSNBC anchor Andrea Mitchell was eager to defend Biden after he suggested that minority kids weren’t as smart as white kids, in comments at the Iowa State Fair, Thursday. Mitchell brushed off the controversial comments as a result of tiredness “after a long day and night.” She sneered any attention brought to them was the fault of Trump’s team:
“Joe Biden, after a widely praised speech against the president 24 hours ago, is now facing a Trump campaign counter-attack, seizing on a few words on the campaign trail,” she whined.
After playing Biden’s comments, Mitchell complained that Trump’s team pounced on the comment, and didn’t include what Biden added, afterwards: “The Trump campaign quickly seizing on the white kids comment. Rapid response director Andrew Clark tweeting out a video clip that notably did not include the full remarks,” she sneered.
Right after this Mitchell praised Biden “fighting back” against a Breitbart reporter who “incorrectly” called out the Democrat for continuing to spread the media’s lie that Trump never condemned the white supremacists at Charlottesville. She also touted his high poll numbers.
Mitchell whining about Trump’s team only tweeting out the first part of Biden’s comment, is so disingenuous since that is exactly what the media has done with Trump’s Charlottesville comments for the past two years. Ironically, which Mitchell denies in this very same report.
All three networks ignored the Biden gaffes in their evening broadcasts last night as well. Biden is not exactly known for his eloquence and frequently makes embarrassing gaffes that get ignored or excused by the media.

WILLIE GEIST: Now to the controversial comment on the campaign trail overnight by Joe Biden, the Democrat front-runner raising eyebrows during a speech in Iowa. We have coverage beginning with Andrea Mitchell. Good morning.
ANDREA MITCHELL: Good morning, Willie. Joe Biden, after a widely praised speech against the president 24 hours ago, is now facing a Trump campaign counter-attack, seizing on a few words on the campaign trail.
Democratic front-runner Joe Biden has been unleashing scorching attacks against Presdient Trump this week on race. The former Vice President accusing the President of being a racist who emboldens white supremacists by aligning himself with their cause, but it's Biden's bungling of his own remarks that’s making headlines this morning. After a long day and night at the Iowa State Fair, speaking to predominantly Asian and Hispanic voters.
BIDEN: We should challenge these students. We should challenge students in these schools. They have advanced placement programs in these schools. We have this notion that somehow if you're poor, you cannot do it. Poor kids are just as bright and just as talented as white kids. [applause] Wealthy kids, black kids. Asian kids. I really mean it. Think how we think about it.
MITCHELL: The Trump campaign quickly seizing on the white kids comment. Rapid response director Andrew Clark tweeting out a video clip that notably did not include the full remarks. Writing, ‘yikes. Have fun mitigating that one.’ It comes after this confrontation between Biden and a reporter from conservative outlet Breitbart. Biden fighting back, after the reporter claimed incorrectly, Biden had misquoted the President after Charlottesville.
BREITBART: He said specifically he was condemning them.
BIDEN: He did not. He said he walked out and said let's get this straight. He said there were very fine people in both groups. They're chanting anti-semitic slogans.
MITCHELL: In a new Iowa poll, Biden still dominates the crowded democratic field with 28%. But Elizabeth Warren is closing the gap at 19%. A 12-point gain for her since the last poll. Willie.
GEIST: Andrea Mitchell, thank you very much.
