Nets Ignore News Alleged Pelosi Attacker Is An Illegal Immigrant

October 31st, 2022 9:22 PM

Despite spending parts of their respective reports lashing out a Republicans for the attack on House Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s husband Paul in the middle of the night on Friday, the big three evening news networks managed to ignore the fact that the alleged attacker was an illegal immigrant who overstayed his visa. Only Fox News’s Special Report mentioned this key detail.

Instead of covering the fact that the attacker shouldn’t have been in the country in the first place, ABC’s World News Tonight tried blaming Republicans and claimed the attacker was motivated by politics.

Correspondent Mola Lenghi kicked off the segment for ABC by claiming “DePape allegedly describing the Speaker as the quote leader of the pack of what he said were lies told by the Democratic Party.”

Continuing to describe the intentions of the attacker, Lenghi proclaimed that “DePape also later explained that by breaking Nancy's kneecaps, she would then have to be wheeled into congress, which would show other members of congress there were consequences to actions.”

Over on CBS Evening News, correspondent Jonathan Vigliotti aired a portion of an unhinged segment by Face the Nation’s Margaret Brennan in which she went ballistic on Republican Congressman Tom Emmer for daring to post a video to Twitter of him at a gun range.

“Critics say campaign messages like this one targeting Pelosi sent a violent message,” Vigliotti cried before airing this exchange:

MARGARET BRENNAN: Why is there a gun in a political ad at all?

REP. TOM EMMER: It wasn't an ad.

BRENNAN: Or a tweet? I was tweeting out—

BRENNAN: Hashtag fire Pelosi with a weapon. Wouldn't a pink slip be more fitting if it's about firing her?

When Vigliotti returned, he went to left-wing radical California Governor Gavin Newsom to let him attack Fox News host Jesse Watters for committing the grave sin of criticizing Paul Pelosi over his drunk driving incident earlier this summer:

I don't think anyone's been dehumanized like she has consistently, I watched one guy, Jesse Watters, or something on Fox News, what he's been saying about Paul Pelosi the last five-six months, mocking him consistently. Don’t tell me that's not aiding and abetting all this.

Meanwhile, on NBC Nightly News, anchor Lester Holt was eager to report that “the FBI says DePape was prepared to detain and injure Speaker Pelosi and that he told authorities he was going to hold Nancy hostage and talk to her.”

While ABC, CBS, & NBC were busy hyping the attack to score political attacks against Republicans, Fox News correspondent Christina Coleman went on Special Report to reveal that David DePape was “in the U.S. illegally as a long-time Visa overstay.”

Once again the leftist media bury the important details of a story. While political violence no matter which side commits it is reprehensible, the important fact is that if our nation’s immigration laws were enforced and our legal system treated everyone equally no matter how powerful, DePape would have been deported and Paul Pelosi would be in jail on his recent drunk driving charges.

This latest example of bias by omission from the three networks was made possible by Tide on ABC, Geico on CBS, and Ensure on NBC. Their information is linked.
