The Elitist Media once helped cover up Joe Biden’s obvious physical and mental decline, until they could no longer do so after the disastrous 2024 presidential debate. And they’re not too pleased about having former First Lady Jill Biden twist that knife in service of promoting a new book.
Consider this brutal sequence on the CBS Evening News, loaded with rebuttals and displays of inconsistencies:
KNIVES OUT: Brual sequence on CBS for Jill Biden, whose book tour seems to intend to make the media look as terrible as possible for covering up Joe Biden's obvious cognitive decline.

RITA BRAVER: Did you ever see signs that he was falling into cognitive decline?
JILL BIDEN: No.
BRAVER: No.
BIDEN: No.
NANCY CORDES: In a newly-released clip from Sunday Morning, former First Lady Jill Biden pushed back on claims that her husband's mental acuity began to fade during his time in office.
BRAVER: People were saying he wasn't the same Joe Biden.
BIDEN: Well, I don't think that's true. He was the same- the essence of the same Joe Biden. But yeah, he was slowing down. He was getting older.
CORDES: But some who spent time with the former president have argued it was more than that. The actor George Clooney, who co-hosted an L.A. fundraiser for Biden, said he was the same man we all witnessed at the debate in June of 2024.
JOE BIDEN: Dealing with everything we have to deal with -- look, if... we finally beat medicare.
CORDES: Special Counsel Robert Hur, who interviewed Biden at length, described him as “an elderly man with a poor memory.” Even Biden's Vice President Kamala Harris said, in retrospect, that it was reckless for him to seek a second term, given his age and health.
BIDEN: Joe, you did such a great job...
CORDES: And while Jill Biden praised her husband's debate performance at the time, she now admits she was worried that night that something was seriously wrong.
BIDEN: As I watched it I thought oh, my God, he's having a stroke, and it scared me to death.
In response to Jill Biden’s claim that she didn’t really see any cognitive decline, Nancy Cordes rolls out George Clooney- who was horrified to see how far gone Biden was at the pre-debate Hollywood fundraiser just a few days prior. Cordes then rolls out Robert Hur, and Kamala Harris’s “reckless” quote. You normally see this degree of pushback on reports featuring Republican officeholders- not the recently former First Lady of the United States.
It was no easier on the NBC Nightly News:
Likewise brutal sequence on NBC: Jill Biden is getting raked over her continued denials of Joe's cognitive decline

JILL BIDEN: I have never, ever seen Joe like that before or since.

JILL BIDEN: I have never, ever seen Joe like that before or since.
BRAVER: What happened?
BIDEN: I don't know what happened. As I watched it, I thought, oh, my God, he's having a stroke. And it scared me to death.
JACKSON: But that's now how she reacted publicly that night. Instead, before accompanying him to a Waffle House, praising her husband's performance.
BIDEN: Joe, you did such a great job. You answered every question. You knew all the facts.
JACKSON: Others around him at the time also insisting that night was a one-off.
You never saw anything like what happened at the debate night behind closed doors with him?
KAMALA HARRIS: It was a bad debate. People have bad debates.
JACKSON: Even with new questions now Democrats are largely looking ahead, with only brief mentions of that debate in their controversial autopsy report. Tom?
LLAMAS: Hallie Jackson for us. Hallie, we thank you for that.
Hallie Jackson closes out the report by downplaying the DNC autopsy’s exclusion of Biden’s cognitive decline as not totally relevant to the 2026 midterms, but not without also pointing out the inconsistencies of Biden’s current positions with those she expressed at that time.
It is reasonable to expect more of this once the interview drops. Jill Biden is making the Elitist Media, her former Regime Media, look completely ridiculous ahead of the midterms. Who knows what’ll happen once the full interview airs? We’ll see.
What about ABC World News Tonight, you might ask? They omitted the latest revelations entirely. They appear to have more of an appetite for being made to look like total fools.

TONY DOKOUPIL: And tonight we have another preview from Jill Biden's exclusive new interview with "CBS Sunday Morning." The former First Lady telling our Rita Braver President Biden was indeed slowing down, as she put it, even as he ran for reelection. But it was all just normal aging, she claims, nothing more than that. Here is Senior White House Correspondent Nancy Cordes.

BIDEN: As I watched it I thought oh, my God, he's having a stroke, and it scared me to death.
CORDES: In the end, the pressure from Democrats was so intense that Biden dropped his bid for reelection and handed the reins to Kamala Harris. That sequence of events is still a source of debate within the party, even as it prepares for the next presidential election in 2028. Tony?
DOKOUPIL: Well, and Nancy, while we have you, this administration, the Trump administration has designed a $250 bill, that's a new thing, with President Trump's face on it. What do you know about this?
CORDES: Yes, in fact the Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent held up a mock-up of it today in the press room. He said Treasury has designed this prototype just in case Congress changes the law, because right now it's illegal for any living person to actually appear on U.S. currency. Democrats called this “make believe”. One even said it's a move that, quote, “would make Mussolini blush.” Bessent argued this $250 bill is meant to celebrate the nation's 250th birthday….and that there would be nothing untoward about it.
DOKOUPIL: All right Nancy, thank you very much. We’ll leave it there.
