CNN Platforms Democratic Senator Still Saying ‘Joe Biden is Fine’

June 27, 2024 -- a date which will live in infamy - that is, if you’re Joe Biden or were part of his campaign team for his ill-fated reelection bid. That night, then-President Biden participated in a disastrous debate against then-former President Trump. Even the leftist moderators from CNN couldn’t save Biden, and his campaign all but died right there on live television. Although, that didn’t stop CNN now, two years later, from platforming Chris Coons, Democratic Senator from Delaware, who still pushed the “Joe Biden is fine” lie.

On The Source, Kaitlan Collins welcomed Senator Coons on-air and played the clip of former first lady Jill Biden on CBS News Sunday Morning, which has since gone viral:

RITA BRAVER: Were you horrified as you saw it unfold?

JILL BIDEN: I wasn't horrified, I was frightened because I had never, ever seen Joe like that before or since. Never.

(...)

RITA BRAVER: What happened?

JILL BIDEN: I don't know what happened. I mean, when I -- as I watched it, I thought, “Oh my God, he's having a stroke.” And it scared me to death.

Collins then asked Coons why, “if that’s how [Jill] felt in that moment,” she still “praised [Joe’s] performance publicly the night of the debate.”

Coons took the former first lady at her word that “she never saw that before, and she’s never seen it since,” expecting all those who are even passingly familiar with recent presidential affairs to believe that Biden’s debate performance wasn’t indicative of how he was behind closed doors.

During Biden’s four years in office, neither CNN nor the other liberal elitist media companies paid any heed to the president’s health besides insisting that he was fine and echoing his press secretary when she absurdly claimed that the President was ‘running rings’ around his younger advisors. Those younger advisors included Vice President Kamala Harris, who even throughout her own presidential campaign continued to declare that Biden was in good health, and never invoked the 25th Amendment against him.

Coons told Collins that he recently saw the former President, and that “Joe Biden is fine.” He mentioned seeing Biden at a funeral, but sitting through a funeral of a non-relative is hardly comparable to holding the highest political office in the world. Biden may have appeared “fine” for a quick appearance where he doesn’t speak publicly, but that doesn’t mean he was “fine” enough to run the country.

Coons then said that “rather than focusing on what happened on a debate stage, nearly two years ago now, we ought to be focused on what comes next.” Collins offered no pushback, agreeing that Democrats “were frustrated that she's out and that she's speaking about it because, it's bringing it back up, obviously, in this moment for Democrats.”

She then went on to change the subject entirely, granting Coons’s wish that they not talk about Biden’s obvious decline while he was still in office anymore. But, as much as Kaitlan Collins, CNN, and other leftist media networks try to sweep Biden’s catastrophic presidency under the rug, the people who lived through it, unlike Joe Biden, will not be so quick to forget.

KAITLAN COLLINS: There's something else that's been making headlines today. As someone who was the campaign co-chair for President Biden's campaign, I'm sure you've heard this. But I want everyone to hear what the former first lady, Jill Biden, said, about what she felt when watching him on that debate - in that debate with CNN, with President Trump.

[Cut to video]

RITA BRAVER: Were you horrified as you saw it unfold?

JILL BIDEN: I wasn't horrified, I was frightened because I had never, ever seen Joe like that before or since. Never.

BRAVER: Or since?

BIDEN: Yes. Or since.

BRAVER: You've never seen him like that?

BIDEN: Never. No.

BRAVER: What happened?

BIDEN: I don't know what happened. I mean, when I -- as I watched it, I thought, “Oh my God, he's having a stroke.” And it scared me to death.

[Cut back to live]

COLLINS: If that's how she felt in that moment, why do you think she praised his performance publicly, the night of the debate?

SEN. CHRIS COONS (D-DE): Well, Kaitlan, let's focus on the point she just made. She's never seen Joe Biden have a moment like that, where for a good 15-20 seconds he couldn't collect his thoughts or communicate. She never saw that before, and she's never seen it since.

I was with them both today at the funeral of a friend, the former mayor of Wilmington, here in Delaware, and Joe Biden is fine.

He had a difficult debate night, where he really froze up. I don't have a clear explanation for why. And frankly, I think she complimented his debate performance, not because she thought those 30 seconds were great, but because she knew what he’d accomplished as president and knew that he would be a better president than Donald Trump.

And frankly, Kaitlan, rather than focusing on what happened on a debate stage, nearly two years ago now, we ought to be focused on what comes next for the American people, how we get their costs down, how we get out of this stupid war in Iran, and how we make sure that we are making life better for the American people.

When Donald Trump, in that debate, and afterwards, ran on lowering your costs, making America healthy again, releasing the Epstein files, and not starting any stupid new wars overseas. He's falling down on all four of those counts.

COLLINS: Yes, I mean, Democrats told CNN today in our reporting on this, they were frustrated that she's out and that she's speaking about it because it's bringing it back up, obviously, in this moment for Democrats.
