As the midterm elections get closer, the elitist media is turning up their hate machine to stoke their audiences into an anti-Trump frenzy.

MS NOW’s Joe Scarborough fearmongered that President Donald Trump was tearing down institutions “brick by brick” that keep Americans safe as he questioned: “Are we gonna survive?”

Scarborough’s MS NOW partner Mika Brzezinski claimed that Trump’s ICE agents were Nazi “shock troops” that are gunning down Americans.

This past month also saw podcaster Jennifer Welch agitate against Trump and his supporters: “They are dismantling our country. They are opening up concentration camps in the United States of America.”

MS NOW and PBS contributor Jonathan Capehart gloomily warned: “Trump is determined to destroy what makes America great.”

The leftist elitists in the entertainment industry took potshots too. Comedian Rosie O’Donnell (who fled to Ireland to escape Trump) returned to guest-host ABC’s Jimmy Kimmel Live!. She used that show’s opening monologue to attack the President for bringing “fascism and the measles” back.

ABC’s The View co-host Whoopi Goldberg urged her anti-Trump audience to vote in the midterms because: “Our lives literally depend on this.”

The following are the most obnoxious outbursts from leftist journalists and celebrities over the last month:

Joe Scarborough: Are We Going to “Survive” Trump and His Nazi “Shock Troops?”

“You see what’s happened at the DOD. You see what’s happened at the Justice Department. You see what’s happened at the National Institutes of Health. All of these, all of these institutions that have been built up to protect Americans and to extend American power and safety across the globe – being torn down brick by brick, piece by piece, by this Trump Administration. And the question people have is, are we gonna survive?”
— Co-host Joe Scarborough on MS NOW’s Morning Joe, August 24.

“You’re actually going to use shock troops in the United States of America to go after not only people who are immigrants, but also Americans themselves. Time and time again, Americans are getting caught up in this, getting gunned down in the streets of America. And you look at Hispanics….They’re having to carry their papers now….This is what happened in the Soviet Union. This is what happened in Nazi Germany.”
— Co-host Joe Scarborough on MS NOW’s Morning Joe, August 13.

Mika Brzezinski Attacks “Backwards, Un-American” and “Sick” Trump Immigration Policy

“Are, again, we going after the worst of the worst, or are we just going after people to create a level of fear out there where laws can be broken, people can be detained for months, and children have to show up alone for the detention hearings? The list goes on as to how backwards, un-American, and sick this is.”
— Co-host Mika Brzezinski on MS NOW’s Morning Joe, August 25.

Jim Acosta Claims Ambassadors Keep Telling Him That Trump Era Reminds Them of 1930s Germany

“I was at a diplomatic function. I had an ambassador to one of our allies in Europe, come up to me and say, ‘What’s happening right now, Jim, reminds me of Germany in the 1930s.’ And there was another ambassador from another U.S. ally standing next to this ambassador, and that ambassador nodded, yep, yep, and they were both saying the same thing.”
— Former CNN correspondent Jim Acosta on The Jim Acosta Show podcast, August 29.

Chris Matthews: Trump’s Not Hitler, He’s Mussolini

“We can’t accuse anybody of being Hitler because there’s only one Hitler, fortunately. There’s only one guy that killed all the people and created a war that cost the lives of 50 million people. And not just the holocaust; that war everywhere. But I think he [Donald Trump] is Mussolini. I think he loves being – having big tributes, pretty uniforms, monuments to himself.”
— Former MSNBC Hardball host Chris Matthews on MS NOW’s Alex Witt Reports, August 29.

Kristen Welker Runs Interference for Leftist Senate Candidate Abdul El-Sayed

“Let me ask you, you describe Dr. El-Sayed as extreme; your Senate colleague Tommy Tuberville has called him a terrorist. Senator Ted Cruz said El-Sayed wants, quote, Sharia law. To be fair, there’s no evidence to support those claims. Do you believe those attacks go too far, Senator?”
— Moderator Kristen Welker to Sen. Jim Banks on NBC’s Meet the Press, August 9.

“There is no evidence that [Abdul] El-Sayed supports any terrorist organization. I just want to read this. A Washington Post analysis online found that, quote, ‘nearly one in three posts about El-Sayed from right-wing figures mentioned Islam, Muslims, or sharia.’ Are Republicans trying to scare voters based on the fact that El-Sayed would be the first Muslim senator?”
— Moderator Kristen Welker to Sen. Tim Scott on NBC’s Meet the Press, August 23.

CNN’s Audie Cornish: “A Colin Powell” Wouldn’t Be Able to Rise in Pete Hegseth’s Military

“There’s something about calling it a meritocracy and then going around saying, ‘Based on your looks, vibes, your identity, you’re out.’ And I think that’s been very disturbing to see, certainly as a black American watching the history of your, the military being whitewashed, when so many people in the community actually were educated, mobilized, and came up through the U.S. military. I don’t think I would look at this military today and be able to say the same thing. I don’t think a Colin Powell rises in this military.”
— Host Audie Cornish after playing a montage clip of Secretary of War Pete Hegseth, as aired on CNN This Morning, September 3.

Jonathan Capehart: “Donald Trump is Determined to Destroy What Makes America Great”

“Donald Trump is determined to destroy what makes America great: our democracy, our pluralism, and the educational and cultural institutions that thrive when people can freely express themselves without fear. His fight against the Smithsonian Institution is escalating because of what Reuters describes as, quote, Trump’s ‘displeasure with what he called the institution's excessive focus on how bad slavery was.’...The Smithsonian relies heavily on federal support, which means it’s vulnerable to the whims of a man who made history as the first convicted criminal to be elected president and let that cook for a moment.”
— Substitute host Jonathan Capehart on MS NOW’s The Last Word with Lawrence O’Donnell, September 4.

Republicans Set a “Health Care Bomb” On the American People

Anchor Geoff Bennett: “Jonathan, what are Democrats offering voters and what would they do if they win the midterms?”
Contributor Jonathan Capehart: “Democrats have been talking about affordability since, what is this, ’26, 20 – since this time last year. I believe it was last year, maybe it was ’24, but preparing people for the health care bomb that Republicans were about to set on the American people.”
PBS News Hour, September 4.

Karoline Leavitt Became the “Most Shameless Liar” That Trump Has Ever Had as Press Secretary

“Kayleigh McEnany, she was going for the Gold in the Lie Olympics but – and I thought coming into this second term, when they announced Karoline Leavitt as the new White House press secretary, I thought - you know - I don’t know - is she ready for primetime? She’s gonna have to do those special exercises that they do inside the Trump White House to really hone their skills at lying to the American people. But by golly, she put in the work. And she has, she has shown some results! She is, I think, by far the biggest and most effective and most shameless liar that Donald Trump has ever had as White House press secretary.”
— Former CNN correspondent Jim Acosta on his podcast The Jim Acosta Show, August 12.

Gayle King to Hillary Clinton on Leftist Icon Gloria Steinem: I Was In Awe of Her

“I woke up to this news. I just heard it an hour ago, and I felt like I’d been kicked in the stomach. I wonder if you could share your remembrances about Gloria Steinem….It is something, Madam Secretary, when you meet your heroes, and they’re everything that you think that they would be, I was in awe the first time I met her.”
— Co-host Gayle King to former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton on CBS Mornings, September 3.

Peter Alexander Gushes About Steinem to Nancy Pelosi: You Two Advanced Equal Rights, Despite Having to Fight Through Three Republican Presidents!

“You and Miss [Gloria] Steinem fought through three Republican presidencies to advance not just women’s rights, but equal rights for everyone.”
— Host Peter Alexander to Rep. Nancy Pelosi on MS NOW’s State of Play, September 3.

NY Times Lavished Praise on Leftist Gloria Steinem, Savaged Conservative Phyllis Schlafly

“Gloria Steinem, the feminist crusader who, in galvanizing the modern women’s movement, helped millions of women develop a sense of self-worth and gain a measure of equality at home, at work and in society at large, died on Wednesday at her home in New York City.”
New York Times Obituary writer Katharine Q. Seelye in September 3, 2026 obit of Gloria Steinem.

VS.

“In her time, Mrs. [Phyllis] Schlafly was one of the most polarizing figures in American public life, a self-described housewife who displayed a moral ferocity reminiscent of the ax-wielding prohibitionist Carry Nation.”
New York Times Obituary writer Douglas Martin in September 5, 2016 obit of Phyllis Schlafly.

Jennifer Welch: Trump and His Supporters Are “Dismantling Our Country,” “Opening Up Concentration Camps”

“You should hold no punches in critiquing Donald Trump and all of the people in this country. You should critique the 77 million people that voted for him. You should go full tilt because it’s dark; it’s awful. They are dismantling our country. They are opening up concentration camps in the United States of America.”
— Former reality show star Jennifer Welch on her I’ve Had It podcast, August 31.

MAGA Can Only Offer “Fear-Mongering, Scare-Mongering, Xenophobia and Racism”

“There is nothing radical about not taking corporate money. There is nothing radical about wanting health care for everybody. There is nothing radical about having a politics that is more empathetic, inclusive, and accepting. MAGA is none of those things. The only thing they can offer, the American public right now, is fear-mongering, scare-mongering, xenophobia, and racism, and Islamophobia, and it has worked for a very long time since 9/11.”|
— Host Jennifer Welch on the I’ve Had It podcast, September 1.

Whoopi Pushes The View’s Anti-Trump Audience to Vote: “Our Lives Literally Depend On This”

“This is now on all of us, every one of us, doesn’t matter your color, doesn’t matter your sex, you want it to change, you’re the only one that can do it….Find out where you can vote and help your elders get to the places to vote. Help everybody you can to get out this vote because our lives literally depend on this.”
— Co-host Whoopi Goldberg on ABC’s The View, September 8.

Rosie O’Donnell Fled to Ireland Because She Thought About “All the People in Nazi Germany Who Didn’t Get Out Early Enough”

“When I told my friends, they’re like, ‘We can’t get you to go to Cancun. What do you mean you’re moving to Ireland?’ And so, you know, I was sure after I read that book, I thought about all the people in Nazi Germany who didn’t get out early enough. And I thought, I don’t want that to be my truth. And I also don’t want to be engrossed in every detail of what he’s [Donald Trump] saying and doing every moment, which is what happens when you’re here in the United States.”
— Former ABC’s The View co-host and comedian Rosie O’Donnell on The Tangle with Kyle Ridley podcast, August 11.

Rosie: Trump Brought Me Back, Just like the Measles and Fascism

“This has been kind of a strange experience for me, because all of a sudden I’m re-famous. I’m back in the spotlight all thanks to President Oompa J. Loompa, who is watching us this evening from inside a catering cart. You know, I couldn’t have done it without you, sweetie. You brought me back, just like you did with fascism and the measles.”
— Comedian and former ABC’s The View co-host Rosie O’Donnell guest-hosting on ABC’s Jimmy Kimmel Live!, August 18.

HBO Host John Oliver: Reagan Was a “Messy Bitch,” the “Forrest Gump of Societal Ills”

Host John Oliver: “Let’s start with the fact that the basic concept of a fetus being its own person with distinct rights is nothing new — in fact, here’s one of its major proponents, laying out the argument in 1984.”
Clip of Ronald Reagan: “I believe that until and unless someone can establish that the unborn child is not a living human being, then that child is already protected by the Constitution, which guarantees life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness to all of us.”
Oliver: “Yeah! There he is! It seems you cannot trace the source of any modern problem without a cameo from this messy bitch. He truly is the Forrest Gump of societal ills.”
— HBO’s Last Week Tonight with John Oliver, August 16.
