On the debut episode of her Kasie DC show on Sunday, MSNBC host Kasie Hunt hinted at the kind of anti-conservative comments that conservatives imagine liberal journalists make about them when they think they're not being observed.
While introducing a discussion about former White House advisor Steve Bannon's speech at the Values Voters Summit, Hunt let it slip that one of her guests -- Jake Sherman of Politico -- had stated something about Bannon "off the air" that she would not repeat "because it's a family program."
Twelve minutes into her 7:00 p.m. ET show on October 15, Hunt set up the discussion:
Bannon is now front and center, and he's leading a hostile takeover of the Republican party. On Saturday, he launched a blistering attack on the Republican establishment at the Values Voter Summit in Washington directing much of his firepower at Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell.
After showing several clips of the conservative head of Breitbart News on stage criticizing McConnell, Hunt turned to Sherman and posed: "Jake, I'm not going to quote what you were saying off the air because it's a family program, but what's your take?"
Sherman dismissed Bannon as he responded:
There's no truth to the fact that Mitch McConnell's not going to be able to raise money anymore. It's a fallacy. He raises millions of dollars every quarter, is still a very sought after person on the campaign trail.
Listen, two quick thoughts on this. Steve Bannon is now supporting Michael Grimm, an ex con in Long Island -- or Staten Island rather -- who was one of the most liberal members of the New York delegation. He's supporting Eric Prince to run for Senate in Wyoming. Eric Prince doesn't live in Wyoming. So I'm confused about really where his political acumen comes from.
