HBO just wants the death of America as we know it, don’t they? Sure, that may sound extreme, but how else would you see it when they’re promoting special evening TV specials hosted by National Anthem-protesting lesbian soccer player Megan Rapinoe and featuring guests like Alexandria “Abolish The Police” Ocasio-Cortez, and America-hating “1619 Project” creator Nikole Hannah-Jones?
Yeah, it’s utterly ridiculous, but this is the new normal. Our media companies are bravely promoting open hatred towards our country.
The Hollywood Reporter announced the news on July 27 that HBO Sports is gearing up for a particularly anti-American TV special called Seeing America With Megan Rapinoe. The show will air on Saturday, August 1 and is to be hosted by U.S. Women’s Soccer player Megan Rapinoe.
THR claimed, “the soccer star and 2019 Women's World Cup outstanding player will be joined by Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, Pulitzer Prize-winning journalist Nikole Hannah-Jones and Patriot Act host Hasan Minhaj.” Oh, so this has less to do with actual sports than it does with the most radical left-wing politics.
Well, of course. The piece claimed the half hour long TV event “will aim to help shape the ongoing cultural conversation that's taking place in the moment.” Well, considering our culture is being flayed by radical leftists who have a problem with all of our traditions under the guise of a racial reckoning, this “moment” will be a half hour of pop culture’s craziest ideologues telling us what to think and how to act ahead of a presidential election. Though, it will have a sports twist, of course.
Let’s go through the litany, shall we? First off, Megan Rapinoe is a top athlete but she is also one the main faces of the left’s takeover of professional sports in the USA. Along with Colin Kaepernick, Rapinoe has used the platform of her global sport to denounce the American flag, kneeling in solidarity with the anti-cop former NFL quarterback. She has denounced the President of the United States on multiple occasions, and filed a high profile lawsuit, along with her fellow teammates, against the U.S. Federation for gender pay discrimination. The women’s team lost the lawsuit, but their leftist fervor remains strong.
And one of Rapinoe’s guests is Nikole Hannah-Jones, whose most famous contribution to society, the New York Times’ “1619 Project,” is curiously not mentioned in the THR write-up at all. Interesting. Could it be because it’s a controversial and bad faith re-telling of the American founding? A re-telling that says that the United States was actually created to protect slavery from the British? Talk about a misleading interpretation.
Also, remember that this woman, who wants the “1619 Project” to corrupt your children via school curriculum, has made outlandish claims including that “the white race is the biggest murderer, rapist, pillager, and thief of the modern world.” Oh, how cute. Can’t wait to tune in.
Of course, how could HBO’s event be seen as anything other than extremist left when its high profile politician guest is “The Squad” leader, and self-proclaimed Democratic Socialist Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY). Perhaps she’ll be on the special to tell Rapinoe just how important it is to denounce the “oppressive” American free market system at every turn, and congratulate herself for the harebrained idea of cutting “$1 billion” from NYC law enforcement. She’ll also probably praise the recent MLB Black Lives Matter kneeling as part of the Lord’s work.
And Hasan Minhaj is uniquely qualified to talk sports, too, on account that he’s a left-wing Netflix host who despises the NRA and thinks Republicans are Harry Potter villains. Hey, since sports now is really just about the lefty virtue-signaling, he’s a perfect fit.
Yeah, if you like your extreme left-wing views sprinkled with a pinch of pro sports fanfare, feel free to tune into HBO this Saturday for yet another lecture.
