Every villain on CBS’s Star Trek: Discovery is a caricature of President Trump. Not only are the Klingons chanting “Remain Klingon!” in their war against multiculturalism, but the newly evil Captain Lorca (Jason Isaacs) stages a coup in order to “make the empire glorious again.” 

The January 25 episode of ABC’s Grey’s Anatomy titled “Personal Jesus” provides an opportunity for a biracial character to lecture white cops on a prejudicial bias and how it affects their job judgment. The liberal writers also cleverly (in their minds) work a real-life event into the mix by naming a 12-year-old boy after a victim who made headlines.

The NBC comedy Superstore spent their January 25 episode exploring the difference between things that are real, things that are imaginary, and things that were once real and are now extinct. The episode title "Angels and Mermaids" might give you a clue as to how they treat faith in those discussions. 

In the episode titled “Hashtag IWasMadeInAmerica” of Freeform’s The Fosters airing January 23, the determination to normalize DACA recipients and reward illegal behavior was strong. Torn from the headlines of newspapers across the country, disrupting a conservative speaker’s event on campus was even shown to be noble.

All corporations are evil, according to Comedy Central’s new show, Corporate. In classical liberal fashion, Wednesday’s episode perpetuates the liberal stereotype that big business is corrupt and its employees are miserable. Fox’s The X-Files has been working overtime on their anti-Trump agenda this season, but they’ve truly outdone themselves with this latest episode. In a fictional world full of conspiracy theories - even parallel universes - where people seem to reject objective truth, one thing never changes: Donald Trump must be mocked at all costs.

Season Four of Netflix’s Grace and Frankie was released on January 19. The usual unconventional antics were included in the 13 half-hour episodes but this time an unexpected twist was included. The adult comedy incorporated a death at the hands of one of the duo’s vibrators for senior citizens.

To many fans’ pleasure, TNT’s latest show The Alienist finally premiered after years of production stalls. Based on the 1994 novel of the same name, the show is poised to add another outlet of gore, misplaced moral messaging, and perhaps the blandest depiction of Theodore Roosevelt you’ll ever see. Medical drama The Resident premiered on January 21 with its pilot episode, in which we get to know the doctors at the fictional Chastain Park Memorial Hospital in Atlanta. Chief of Surgery Dr. Randolph Bell (Bruce Greenwood) is highly-respected but, it turns out, it kind of a a jerk, and has an interesting take on the state of American immigration. 

The 24th Annual Screen Actors Guild Awards aired January 21 on TNT and it was all about the ladies, from First Lady Melania Trump, to the #MeToo women. For the first time, the awards show incorporated a host, actress Kristen Bell and a decision was made in advance to only use female presenters. Men were relegated to second class status, only helping to present the nominations of ensemble awards.

Forty-five years ago, on January 22, 1973, the Supreme Court handed down the infamous Roe v. Wade decision that made abortion on demand the law of the land. Sixty million abortions later, we are still battling over the disastrous ruling, in court and in the culture wars.

The January 18 episode of Will & Grace was as offensive as ever. They took a bizarre number of shots at the Bible out of nowhere as well as delivering some stale Russia "jokes."
