The liberal media had a predictably sour reaction to President Trump’s speech to Congress. Yet one year ago, these same networks used Joe Biden’s 2024 State of the Union speech to dishonestly proclaim the obviously faltering 81-year-old was brimming with energy and ready for a second term.

On Wednesday morning, it remained evident ABC, CBS, and NBC were still largely uninterested in and almost seemed burdened by having to cover Tuesday night’s address by President Trump to a joint session of Congress. It’s starting to feel like there’s an ongoing bet in the “mainstream press” to see who can find the dumbest possible government project to defend in earnest.

On the latest edition of NBC’s Meet the Depressed, Oklahoma Senator Markwayne Mullin shut down host Kristen Welker’s pressure over the reduction of the federal workforce. Thus continues the media’s campaign to advocate for fired government workers in a way they’ve never done for any other workers.

Morning Joe devoted a segment today to fretting over Trump arranging peace talks with Russia on Ukraine without, at this stage, the participation of Ukrainian officials.  But the show ignored Zelensky's stunning statement: that Putin is "afraid" of Trump and that while Putin is a "liar," Trump can push him into peace negotiations because he is "scared" of Trump, who is "strong."

In the nearly three hours of pre-inauguration coverage after Today, NBC pitched a few small fits over their party falling out of power, ranging from it being divisive that President Trump believes in there being only two genders (male and female) and opposing Diversity, Equity, & Inclusion (DEI), and comparing Trump’s definition of “fairness” to that of a “toddler.”
