Yesterday, as Sports Illustrated and others reported, ESPN fired two suspended employees for allegedly engaging in sexual harassment during their previous employment at the NFL Network. How ironic and how hypocritical is that? ESPN is also facing a sexual harassment lawsuit for allowing what its accuser, Adrienne Lawrence, charges is a hostile work environment for women.

The social media skirmish between President Trump and defenders of NFL protests is back on, and Yahoo! Sports rushed headlong into the fray today to denounce the commander in chief for opposing those pro football players who take a knee during the national anthem.

None of the NFL's communities have applied for federal disaster funding yet, but progressive lion Dave Zirin, sports editor for The Nation, claims the refusal to sign Colin Kaepernick to a pro football contract has brought these cities to economic ruin. He blames Kaepernick's lost season on right-wing, billionaire team owners who bank-rolled Donald Trump into the Oval Office.

Cleats honoring Colin Kaepernick and referring to police officers as "pigs" are A-OK with the National Football League, but Christmas-themed shoes are worthy of a significant fine.
