Tuesday's All Things Considered on NPR aired two segments that took shots at President Donald Trump and Senator Ted Cruz's handling of the aftermath of Hurricane Harvey. Both reports featured talking heads from liberal organizations, but didn't explicitly mention their ideological stance. By contast, the segments clearly identified specific individual and groups as "conservative." 

As Tim Graham at NewsBusters noted in an August 24 post about the reckless smear of Sarah Palin in the New York Times after unhinged leftist James T. Hodgkinson shot and nearly killed Congressman Steve Scalise in June, the paper's latest ad campaign insists that "The truth is hard to know," that "The truth is hard to find," and that "The truth is now more important than ever."

For several years, CNN and fellow liberal channel MSNBC have battled to see which of these “news” networks will rise above the basement in ratings. While this long-running tug-of-war has gone on, the Fox News Channel has maintained its dominance in ratings.

Without an actual journalist even saying a word, MSNBC on Wednesday slimed Donald Trump as uncaring.  Apparently, it’s inappropriate for the President to have the federal government do more than one thing at a time. During Trump’s speech on plans for simplifying and cutting taxes, MSNBC ran this nasty graphic: “Trump Calls for Simplifying Tax Code as Texas Floods.” 

On Wednesday, MSNBC’s Morning Joe wasted no time trashing President Trump’s visit to Texas in the wake of Hurricane Harvey. Co-host Mika Brzezinski repeatedly suggested there was “something wrong with” Trump as pundits ganged up to accuse the President of not showing sufficient empathy toward victims of the disaster.

MSNBC AM Joy Host Joy Reid appeared on Tuesday’s The Daily Show with Trevor Noah, where she bashed President Trump’s response to Hurricane Harvey. Playing the armchair psychologist, Reid said Trump lacked the ability to empathize or “understand” the depth of the “misery” the citizens of Houston, Texas are experiencing right now.

The front page of Wednesday’s New York Times was properly dominated by the damage Hurricane Harvey is wreaking in Texas.
