During MSNBC’s post-debate coverage on Wednesday, Saturday Night Politics host Donny Deutsch found himself in rhetorical cage match to the death against Last Word host Lawrence O’Donnell after Deutsch opined that Democrat Elizabeth Warren would lose in a landslide to President Trump and that no candidate on night one could currently beat the President.

Awww, hopefully everyone at MSNBC leaves tonight with a comfort animal of their choice. In the first few minutes after the first 2020 Democratic presidential debate on Wednesday, panelists were livid that there wasn’t enough Trump bashing to the point that they wondered whether the candidates consciously decided that the President became a real-life Voldemort who’s name “will not be mentioned.”

In theory, a primary debate on cable is a time to analyze the quality and suitability of presidential contenders. But then there’s MSNBC. Unhinged debate analyst Joy Reid on Wednesday demanded to know how 2020 Democrats will respond to the desire of Trump voters for “cruelty” and the need to “hurt” illegals and “brown people” in general. 

With the on-screen headline reading “caring for migrant children”, anchor Lester Holt noted that “some of the Democratic candidates spent the hours leading up to tonight's debate visiting a center here in Florida, where over 13,000 migrant children have been placed since March of last year, as outrage grows about conditions inside these facilities.”

Instead of showing off its journalistic prowess, Telemundo’s much-heralded first U.S. Spanish-language media interview with President Trump showcased the network’s penchant for dishonesty and deception. The crazy train left the station at 7:00 p.m. Eastern Wednesday night ahead of the first 2020 Democratic presidential debate on MSNBC, NBC, and Telemundo with MSNBC’s pre-debate coverage, which featured co-host Nicolle Wallace proclaiming that this election is, most importantly, about Democrats “saving the country” by hitting Trumpism with a 2 X 4 piece of wood.
