On Wednesday's PBS NewsHour, correspondent Amna Nawaz fretted about President Donald Trump accurately linking the COVID-19 virus to China during a segment highlighting reports of increased racism being faced by Asian-Americans in recent weeks.

Their entire premise was a lie. According to ABC World News Tonight anchor David Muir, President Trump was trying to keep Americans who found themselves suddenly unemployed during the coronavirus crisis from getting health insurance. Moments later, congressional correspondent Mary Bruce, who backed up the assertion, proved they were lying to their viewers.

Univision midday anchor Borja Voces suggested Thursday that President Donald Trump despises undocumented immigrants, in a rant about how undocumented immigrants were excluded from the government´s emergency economic assistance package.

Since Tuesday, liberal journalists on CNN and MSNBC have been teaming up with elected Democrats to shoot down the notion that their collective obsession with impeaching President Trump slowed the federal government’s response to the coronavirus pandemic. The biased coverage argued the “talking point” was “dangerous” and predicted that it would not “pick up much traction.”

There is nothing abhorred more by the mandarins of the 24-hour news cycle than hope. Reporting must beget more reporting. If not, viewers lose interested and change channels and teleprompter readers like Don Lemon and Rachel Maddow get less face time.
