Unsurprisingly, Disney-owned ABC News was ebullient on Monday’s Good Morning America with the news from Sunday afternoon that Governor Ron DeSantis (R-FL) – who took on and embarrassed the Sunshine State behemoth — had dropped out of the 2024 presidential race, calling it an “implosion” and “spectacular failure” that hadn’t been seen in American history.

On Morning Joe, commenting on Ron DeSantis's withdrawal from the race, Joe Scarborough says that DeSantis made the mistake of trying to get into the lane that Donald Trump had already filled, that of the super-MAGA voters. Scarborough depicted Trump as the "Fat Elvis" of 1977, and that people going to see him in Las Vegas weren't going to instead choose a knock-off imitation of Fat Elvis.
