It hasn’t been a good week for NBC’s PR team. Their top anchor has humiliated the network and been suspended for six months after being outed as a liar. And one of their foreign correspondents continues to take heat for making offensive comments about a celebrated American hero, American Sniper Chris Kyle
Two retired generals appeared on Hannity Tuesday evening to discuss the letter they sent along with MRC President Brent Bozell to the Comcast Board of Directors demanding an on-air apology from NBC foreign correspondent Ayman Mohyeldin.
It’s been two weeks since Mohyeldin called Kyle a “racist” whose military missions were “killing sprees,” and the disgraced network has yet to utter a peep about its correspondent’s scandalous claim.
Lt Gen Thomas G. McInerney, USAF (Ret) told Hannity, “It was absolutely imperative that we responded to these outrageous comments that this chap made about Chris Kyle and Chris Kyle's family.”
“Well, Chris Kyle is a brother, Sean, plain and simple. He's a brother. And I think that we have a responsibility to him, his memory, his family, and to the other warriors that knew Chris Kyle to stand up for him when he is obviously being disparaged, his reputation is being maligned. And I think it's our responsibility to stand up and fight back against the irresponsible reporting of a knucklehead like this Ayman Mohyeldin,” said Lt Gen William G. “Jerry” Boykin, US Army (Ret).
The conversation then pivoted to Brian William’s suspension from NBC Nightly News. General Boykin said he was “glad to see NBC take some action,” and that he thinks it’s “quite obvious that [Williams] will not be back.”
General McInerney slammed what he described as the “narrative that's been building in the mainstream media that they can absolutely lie about what they're saying, particularly when they're talking about conservatives.”
At the end of the segment, General McInerney added, “we didn't say it in the letter, but I think that chap on NBC News who disparaged Chris Kyle, that he should be fired. We deserve more than an apology.”

HANNITY: Pretty unbelievable! Now, in a letter to the Peacock network, 22 retired admirals and generals are demanding an apology for those remarks. Here now are two of the men who signed that letter, FOX News military analyst Lieutenant General Thomas McInerney, and former deputy undersecretary of defense Lieutenant General William Boykin.
Lieutenant McInerney, General McInerney, let me ask you, I mean, you signed this letter. To me, this -- this was a reporter, and he's just making statements hearsay, speculation. That is as egregious to me as what they suspended Brian Williams for!
LT. GEN. MCINERNEY, USAF (RET.), FOX MILITARY ANALYST Absolutely, Sean. And by the way, before I comment on that, General Boykin was the real leader behind the 22 generals and admirals that signed this. So my thanks to General Boykin. But when he asked me to do it, it was absolutely imperative that we responded to these outrageous comments that this chap made about Chris Kyle and Chris Kyle's family.
HANNITY: It's outrageous!
MCINERNEY: Let's face it. They're all heroes.
