CNN's senior legal analyst reacted to George Zimmerman's acquittal on Saturday by tweeting that Trayvon Martin "got the death penalty for buying Skittles in a hoodie."
"I understand it, but still..." CNN's Jeffrey Toobin enigmatically added. He was joined by CNN host Piers Morgan in outrage. "I find it very hard to accept that it's 'lawful' to shoot an unarmed 17yr-old boy dead as he walks home," Morgan tweeted Sunday morning.
Morgan used the tragedy to whack gun laws, as he has done multiple times already. "If George #Zimmerman had not had a gun, he'd have never got out of his car that night, and Trayvon Martin would still be alive," Morgan ranted.
He also ripped into Florida's "Stand Your Ground" law, as he has done before. "I don't criticise the jury - I criticise the law that enabled them to find George #Zimmerman not guilty of anything. #RIPTrayvon" Morgan tweeted.
