The trial of notorious Philadelphia abortionist Kermit Gosnell -- as close to a demonic presence as anything this country will ever see -- was almost a month old when the network blackout finally ended. CNN broke its silence, as did CBS. National newspapers sent reporters to the trial for the first time.
They started covering it only because of a national outrage that they would so deliberately withhold this horror story from the public -- for political reasons.
Kirsten Powers in USA Today insisted: “This should be front page news. When Rush Limbaugh attacked Sandra Fluke, there was non-stop media hysteria...Yet, accusations of babies having their heads severed — a major human rights story if there ever was one — [don’t] make the cut.”
Washington Post reporter Paul Farhi relayed ridiculous statements. “CBS has been working the story.” NBC: “The story is on our radar.” CNN: “Our coverage...has been thorough and appropriate.” Martin Baron, the top editor at the Post, was the silliest. He said he’d just discovered the Gosnell story. It broke in 2011.
It’s telling that a journalist of this caliber would rather plead ignorance than concede the bias everyone knows he has.
The other ridiculous Post response came from reporter Sarah Kliff: “I cover policy for the Washington Post, not local crime.”
“Local crime” becomes a national issue when the journalist wishes it so. The O.J. Simpson murder trial became the Mega-Story of the Year -- because the media wished it to be. The killing of late-term abortionist George Tiller? The murder of a homosexual man in Wyoming? They went national -- because the media wished it.
"If it bleeds, it leads" -- unless it's the blood of innocent babies. This monster didn't merely "abort." He took viable babies from their mothers' wombs and tortured them to death. The pictures of the corpses of perfectly formed children -- my God, with a full head of hair! -- with the back of the head punctured by the scissors that severed the spinal cord -- it's enough to make you vomit.
The abortion agenda is so fierce, so militant, so extreme within journalism ranks anything that challenges the practice is suppressed.
"The people's right to know." These journalists disgust me.
And where are you, Mr. President? Your calloused disregard disgusts me too.
You are so quick to lecture, to criticize, even to condemn anyone in this country and anything about this country that in your view points to an injustice that needs to be addressed.
The facts weren't in (and still aren't) on the Trayvon Martin killing before you decided to use your bully pulpit to fuel the flames of racial division. You jumped right in, chose sides and told America that Trayvon looked like he could have been your son.
But you said more than just that. Let me remind you. “I think that every parent in America should be able to understand why it is absolutely imperative that we investigate every aspect of this, and that everybody pulls together, federal, state and local to figure out exactly how this tragedy happened.”
Where are you now, Mr. President?
When Fox reporter Ed Henry asked your spokesman about the scandal, he acknowledged you were aware of it, but that “The president does not and cannot take a position on an ongoing trial. So I won’t as well.” That is shameless.
Of course you're aware of it, Mr. President. You've heard how these babies were massacred. You've heard of the mothers who also died because of this killer, all of them minorities, poor, lonely women -- the ones you tell us you care about so deeply.
You've seen the pictures too, I know you have. You've seen those black babies, every one a little, innocent angel, butchered. How many looked like they could be your son?
Jay Carney also declared your “position on choice is very clear.” Abortions should be “safe, legal, and rare.”
All of those abortions Gosnell performed were as safe for the victims as any other abortion. They all die. What Gosnell did in his grisly execution of his victims -- did we mention he even joked while butchering them? --is legal. You defended this in Illinois. Rare? Who cares? Most especially you.
What the Gosnell trial is proving is abortion advocates and their equally ardent media friends know the damage this story does. The more people understand what is being done, the more this country is revolted. So they censor the news from the masses, the poor, the uneducated, the easy-to-command types who cling to their God and their guns.
Those masses also love little babies. And pray that Dr. Kermit Gosnell, along with everyone who aided him in his sadistic practice, rot in hell.
