As NewsBusters has been reporting, CNN's Piers Morgan has been on a gun control tirade since the recent massacre at Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newtown, Connecticut.
On Friday, a man in Austin, Texas, created a petition at the White House website calling for Morgan's deportation as a result of his attacks on the Second Amendment:
For his part, Morgan appears unscathed by the petition tweeting to his followers:
Ironic U.S. gun rights campaign to deport me for 'attacking 2nd Amendment rights' - is my opinion not protected under 1st Amendment rights?
— Piers Morgan (@piersmorgan) December 22, 2012
The answer of course is yes, his opinion is protected under the First Amendment. The problem many in the nation have is that he presents it so arrogant and one-sidedly often devoid of the facts on a so-called "news network."
If he was doing this minus the title of CNN anchor, it would be far less offensive.
But don't feel sorry for Morgan. His over-sized ego is clearly unaffected:
6,600 Americans have currently signed the petition to deport me - meaning 311,993,400 clearly want me to stay. Thank you.

Using that tortured logic, since only 776,000 people watched his show Thursday, that must mean 314,214,588 Americans think he shouldn't be on the air at all.
Somehow his superego protects him from such inconvenient truths.
