With a little over a weak to go until Election Day, ABC “bona fide news” co-hosts Ana Navarro and Sunny Hostin made another effort to violate the network’s broadcast license and electioneer for Democrats. The duo urged independent voters to vote for Democrats over Republicans in the midterms and even tried to sell them on the agenda of a hypothetical Speaker Hakeem Jeffries (D-NY).

Additionally, Alyssa Farah Griffin, one of the show’s purported conservatives, promoted independents over Republicans.

“I think the idea of independents as a party is a longer conversation that requires a lot of investment,” Navarro said, waving off the notion of supporting middle of the road candidates this cycle.

Navarro went on to argue that the lection was a “binary choice” between good and evil. She said independent voters should vote thinking about the “Constitution” and “accountability and oversight against” President Trump:

Independence means not treating your partisan label as if it were a ball and chain that you are wedded to. It means being independent - What you do have to be wedded to are your principles, your convictions, the facts, what's good for your country, your priorities, what's good for your children, what's good for future generations.

And so for me, you know, it's about upholding the Constitution. It's about there being accountability and oversight against the abuses of power.

“I do agree that this is a very important binary choice. Do you want the Republican policies in place, or do you want change?” Hostin declared.

It was the second day in a row that Hostin ran an infomercial for her fantasy of a Speaker Jeffries. She tried to sell independents on voting for Democrats by pushing his 100-day agenda:

And Democrats, Hakeem Jeffries, has a 100-day agenda for the Democrats. And it's going to address corruption. It's going to address health care. It's going to address affordability, cost of living. A host of things that we as a country need desperately repaired. Desperately repaired.

“And the bottom line is, I do think independent voters will decide the midterm,” Hostin glazed them, as she read up some unidentified polling numbers. “So, I think that while they will decide the election, I think they're going to swing Democrat.”

Farah Griffin, purportedly occupying the so-called “conservative” seat at the table, argued that their should be more independents and not Republicans:

I think he's [Matthew McConaughey] calling for more Independence in the system, and that's something I strongly believe in. I think that the two-party system makes both sides very beholden to special interests.

(…)

So, I see independents as people who are multi-faceted and may vote a number of different ways, but are ultimately still going to show up for their country and vote.

She went on to flaunt her stone-cold ignorance when whing about “too much money in politics” by going after gun rights.

“I always go back to this stat. 83 percent of Americans believe in some degree of gun control. Red flag laws, background checks. But that will literally never get done, because on the right you have the NRA,” she decried.

“Literally never get done?” Are you braindead, Alyssa?

Background checks have been mandated since 1993 when the Brady Bill was enacted. Not only that, the NRA actually supported the amendment to it that created the National Instant Criminal Background Check System (NICS).

But, of course, you get this kind of ignorance when you’re not actually engaged with conservative politics and just slurp down whatever liberal BS the rest of the cast was guzzling.

WHOOPI GOLDBERG: Do independent candidates have a fighting chance in this current political system? Or is Hillary right, that maybe this wasn't the time?

ALYSSA FARAH GRIFFIN: I think he's [Matthew McConaughey] calling for more Independence in the system, and that's something I strongly believe in. I think that the two-party system makes both sides very beholden to special interests.

We have too much money in politics. We have too many outside groups that are lobbying to keep people in certain corners, making it impossible to get –

[Applause]

I always go back to this stat. 83 percent of Americans believe in some degree of gun control. Red flag laws, background checks. But that will literally never get done, because on the right you have the NRA. On the left, I could point to a whole host of health care reforms I would love to see, but because of lobbies there, it's not able to get done.

So, I see independents as people who are multi-faceted and may vote a number of different ways, but are ultimately still going to show up for their country and vote.

ANA NAVARRO: I think the idea of independents as a party is a longer conversation that requires a lot of investment.

Where are we now, 11 days before an election? In many places, including Florida, where I live, including Texas, where Matthew McConaughey lives, for most of the races, it's a binary choice. And it's a binary choice between, for example, James Talerico, or the guy who was impeached by his own party.

And so I do – So, what does Independence mean know right now? Right now, where we are, with the midterm elections just around the corner.

SUNNY HOSTIN: I agree with you, Ana. I think that now is not the time for Matthew McConaughey to say that. And more importantly, I do agree that this is a very important binary choice. Do you want the Republican policies in place, or do you want change?

And Democrats, Hakeem Jeffries, has a 100-day agenda for the Democrats. And it's going to address corruption. It's going to address health care. It's going to address affordability, cost of living. A host of things that we as a country need desperately repaired. Desperately repaired.

And the bottom line is, I do think independent voters will decide the midterm. But it's something like 45 percent or 47 percent. But oftentimes, this time, independent voters say that they are leaning toward a political party. 57 percent say that they favor Democrats in this election. 33 percent said they favor Republicans and 10 percent did not know or would not say.

So, I think that while they will decide the election, I think they're going to swing Democrat.

GOLDBERG: We'll be right back.
