Never let anyone in the liberal media claim they’re not gleeful that former President Trump was booked and had his mugshot taken at a Fulton County jail. Nearly 40 minutes after concluding their opening segment about Trump surrendering to authorities in Georgia, the cast of CBS Mornings revisited the topic in their “What to Watch” segment so they could make fun of Trump’s “self-reported” height and weight, and say he’s fatter than he claimed. They even compared his build to NFL players.
Coming back from the commercial break, CBS led into the segment by broadcasting their intentions with the song Body by Megan Thee Stallion, which has these enlightened lyrics:
Body-ody-ody-ody-ody-ody-ody-ody/Ody-ody-ody-ody-ody-ody-ody (mwah)/Body-ody-ody-ody-ody-ody-ody-ody (ah, ah, ah ah)/Ody-ody-ody-ody-ody-ody-ody
“Body body body!” co-host Tony Dokoupil sang along. “Perfect song!” co-host Gayle King proclaimed, with Dokoupil agreeing it was a “Very perfect song!”
They immediately went to correspondent Omar Villafranca to mock Trump for claiming he was 6'3" and 215 pounds. They wanted to really have fun with it so they matched the former President up against young and muscular NFL players:
VILLAFRANCA: Self-reported, 6'3", 215. That's what was self-reported. Now he's got – I’m watching your face, Nate –
NATE BURLESON: Okay. Okay.
KING: With – Omar – with strawberry blonde hair and blue eyes.
VILLAFRANCA: I saw that. But let’s compare that, if this is the NFL draft and you're at the combine, 6'3", 215, the President. Good company, Derek Carr, quarterback of the Saints, 6'3", 215. But wait, there's more. Let's go to a position that Nate is familiar with, Larry Fitzgerald. 6'3", 218.
BURLESON: Oh!
VILLAFRANCA: Yeah. And another quarterback who is a tremendous athlete, Lamar Jackson, 6'2", 212, electric to watch.
“So, the President there, I'm not sure if we're going to see him at a combine,” Villafranca quipped.
King was apparently tired of pretending to be impressed with Trump’s self-reported figures. “Come on, now. Does anybody believe he weighs 215? I’ll go first. Noo!” she declared. “Nobody in this room believes that. I would have bet at least 280. That's what I would have bet. If he weighs 215, I weigh 102.
Dokoupil added that “No one on the internet believes it.” He also noted that those taking bets “were saying the over under was 278.”
He also pointed out that “when he was president, the official White House physical, the last one he took, listed him at 244” and “he gained an inch from the indictment in April, and he lost 25 pounds since leaving the White House.” “WOW!” Villafranca responded in faux disbelief before switching gears to baby pandas.
Was Trump exaggerating how light he was? More than likely. Did it require an entire segment with special graphics to mock it? Definitely not. Were there better things they could have used the time for? Yes, like the House Oversight Committee’s investigation into Biden family corruption.
CBS’s childish mocking of former President Trump’s weight was made possible because of lucrative sponsorships from Macy’s and Liberty Mutual. Their contact information is linked.

TONY DOKOUPIL: Body body body!
GAYLE KING: Perfect song!
DOKOUPIL: Time now for What to Watch! Very perfect song! We're talking about heights and weights and the self-reported figures. What do you got?
OMAR VILLAFRANCA: I'm a gentleman. I'm never going to ask you guys your height and weight. I’ll tell you I'm just over six feet, about two bills. But everybody's talking about President Trump and his weigh-in with the booking. All right? So, let's get right to it.
Self-reported, 6'3", 215.
So, the president there, I'm not sure if we're going to see him at a combine --
BURLESON: But he lines right up with them.
VILLAFRANCA: Right up.
BURLESON: Height and weight.
VILLAFRANCA: But let me tell you--
KING: Come on, now. Does anybody believe he weighs 215? I’ll go first. Noo!
DOKOUPIL: No one on the internet believes it.
KING: Nobody in this room believes that. I would have bet at least 280. That's what I would have bet. If he weighs 215, I weigh 102.
DOKOUPIL: So, Gayle, I don’t know if you know this—
VILLAFRANCA: You look great! You look great!
[Laughter]
KING: Thank you, Omar! Thank you!
DOKOUPIL: The gambling odds, the oddsmakers were saying the over under was 278. Now, when he was president, the official White House physical, the last one he took, listed him at 244.
VILLAFRANCA: So, he's lost weight according to this.
DOKOUPIL: So, he gained an inch from the indictment in April, and he lost 25 pound since leaving the White House.
BURLESON: Got taller and lost weight.
VILLAFRANCA: WOW!
KING: And it's a self-reporting part.
DOKOUPIL: It’s self-reported.
VILLAFRANCA: Yeah. That's the thing.
