In the same week that credit rating agency Fitch downgraded the United States’ credit from AAA to AA+, partially because President Biden refused to negotiate on the debt ceiling with Republicans until the 11th hour, multimillionaire and co-host of ABC’s The View, Joy Behar whined that Biden was not getting “credit” for a “booming” economy. She falsely suggested that “inflation is down” and that average Americans were “having an easier time putting bread on the table.”
After the liberal ladies spent a chunk of time hyperventilating about Florida Governor Ron DeSantis (R) had accepted California Governor Gavin Newsom’s (D) debate challenge, Joy Behar flipped out after hearing about a New York Times/Siena poll that found former President Trump could possibly beat President Biden in a rematch.
The out-of-touch multimillionaire bloviated about how the economy was supposedly amazing right now and she couldn’t understand why average Americans who were not as wealthy as her were complaining. The only explanation she had was that they were just ageists:
Let me say something about Joe Biden. According to what I’m observing, the economy is booming, inflation is down, the stock market is doing well, people are having an easier time putting bread on the table, et cetera. He doesn't seem to be getting the credit for that, only 41 percent approval. Is it because they think he's old? Because I don't see anything else they can point to with him particularly.
One of The View’s faux conservatives, Alyssa Farah Griffin noted that Behar really should be asking that of Democrats who, in poll after poll, weren’t showing enthusiasm for the leader of their party. This caused Behar to snap and demand that Farah Griffin answer instead, leading to a cacophonous shouting match (Click “expand”):
FARAH GRIFFIN: Well, that’s a question for Democrats.
BEHAR: No, that’s a question for you really –
FARAH GRIFFIN: Why?
BEHAR: because you said you would not vote for Biden.
[Laughter]
SARA HAINES: Well she’s not voting for him anyway.

BEHAR: But you said you would not vote for Biden.
FARAH GRIFFIN: Let me talk about my vote, one vote.
SUNNY HOSTIN: Every vote counts and your vote counts. I'm going to tell you again but I know you don't want to hear it, writing in a candidate that you know can’t win –
[Crosstalk]
FARAH GRIFFIN: Why is your candidate not doing better with Democrats? That’s who he needs to win and moderates and swing voters.
BEHAR: Because they think he's old. That’s why!
FARAH GRIFFIN: Oh, well then – [gestures to Behar like she has her answer.]
[Crosstalk]
BEHAR: Listen, I am the same age as Joe Biden!
“You guys! Oh, it’s just chaos!” Behar exclaimed in frustration at their rancorous banter.
“Why is your candidate not doing better with Democrats? That’s who he needs to win and moderates and swing voters,” Farah Griffin argued throughout the back and forth. “Joe Biden is not doing poorly because I won't vote for Joe Biden. Let me just make that abundantly clear.”
The other fake conservative, Ana Navarro, speculated that former President Obama’s recent visit to the White House was to tell Biden “don't take anything for granted” in the race. She warned that Hillary Clinton got too complacent and thought minorities would support her just because Trump was her opponent.
According to racist co-host Sunny Hostin, Obama was “giving him good counsel” but that the onus was on Republicans to “vote for their country before they vote for their party!” “That’s what we need,” she demanded.

NAVARRO: First of all, I don't think Obama went into the Oval Office and had lunch with Biden to tell him you're a weak candidate but tell him “don't take anything for granted.”

NAVARRO: And I think one of the problems Hillary had was that for too long she thought, “Latinos are going to vote against Trump because it's Trump and African Americans will vote for me because I'm running against Trump.” And what Obama is saying to Biden is, “There's only one way to run in politics: you run hard and you run scared, and you don't take any group for granted. And I actually like you, Joe. You were my vice president unlike Trump's vice president who is running against him.”
They have a great relationship and Obama's there to say, “I'm here for you whenever you need me.”
HOSTIN: He’s giving him good counsel but we need good Republicans that will vote for their country before they vote for their party! That’s what we need.
