One year after Roe vs. Wade’s overturning, Hollywood's still throwing a temper tantrum, and now they’re even claiming women can’t work unless they know they have “access” to killing their unborn children.
According to a recent story from The Hollywood Reporter (THR), actress Lily Tomlin, feminist lawyer Gloria Allred and Friends co-creator Marta Kauffman led a group of Hollywood’s elite women called “Showrunners for Abortion Rights” in a picket outside of Amazon Studios last Friday to demand “protection” for those who work in states that have enacted legal protections for unborn children.
One protestor suggested to Amazon Studios:
[M]aybe instead of figuring out how drones can safely fly our packages to our door, you could figure out how a Medevac could safely fly our crewmembers to a hospital.
Yes, they actually expect studios to provide Medevac helicopters to fly them from a set if they need an abortion out of state. Why not limos while they’re at it, as well?
Apparently, these “people with wombs” powerhouses aren’t as powerful as they claim to be. Another protestor was quoted as saying:
The work that we do would be impossible without access to abortion and reproductive health care overall. Many, if not most of us, would not be able to do the work that we do without knowing that we have that access.
To decode the semantics, they’re claiming they can’t function in a professional capacity unless they know an abortion clinic is nearby. Such bold, strong feminists they are! (sarcasm)
If groups like these spent as much time pooling resources to help women choose life as much as they fight to have abortions, the abortion rate would fall drastically.
Pro-lifer Frederica Mathewes-Green once wisely stated, “No woman wants an abortion as she wants an ice cream cone or a Porsche. She wants an abortion as an animal caught in a trap wants to gnaw off its own leg.”
Indeed, as former MRC Culture editor Katie Yoder reported for Our Sunday Visitor, “A peer-reviewed study by the Charlotte Lozier Institute (CLI), the research arm of Susan B. Anthony Pro-Life America, recently found that ‘nearly 70% of abortions are coerced, unwanted, or inconsistent with women’s preferences,’ according to a CLI press release.”
THR reported that Kauffman cried at the event:
We’re not gonna stand for the women and the people with wombs, as Gloria [Allred] said, being at risk just because they want to work. This is a discrimination issue.
A discrimination issue? The only ones being discriminated against are the vulnerable unborn children who can’t speak for themselves.
Even though Hollywood has already shoved abortion down our throats in all their many propaganda-filled shows, the coalition is demanding even more brainwashing. According to THR, Tomlin stated:
You, the storytellers, no longer have to imagine a world like Handmaid’s Tale, because we’re pretty close to that right now. What you do have to do is tell the stories about what women are facing all over the country.
Just be sure to stay hush-hush about those 70 percent, am I right? We can’t have their stories getting out. (again, sarcasm)
Allred called for an outright ban of filming in states that have protected unborn children, as THR reported:
I do think that SAG-AFTRA, the Directors Guild, the Producers Guild, the Writers Guild, the technical and craft guilds should not participate in making films in states that ban abortions. I think we should demand that our unions protect our vulnerable wombs.
It’s not wombs that are vulnerable. It’s the precious unborn children inside of those wombs that are vulnerable and deserving of protection. Leave it to Hollywood to get it completely backwards, though.
As always, we’ll be sure to watch for the onslaught of abortion propaganda that is to come on television from these women so you don’t have to!
