On Tuesday, nearly 24 hours after claiming “there’s nothing fake about CNN,” CNN This Morning co-host Don Lemon laughably asserted, without evidence, that “all evidence points” to “the facts” that the Department of Justice (DOJ) is not political, and has only ever been political during the Trump administration.
Lemon’s BIG LIE about the nature of the DOJ came during an argument with David Schoen, former President Trump’s lawyer for the second impeachment, about the validity of the January 6 Committee and their conflicts of interest.
Schoen called out Democratic Chairman Bennie Thompson (MS) and Democratic members Jamie Raskin (MD) and Adam Schiff (CA) for having personal financial incentives for the committee to seek Trump’s indictment (Click “expand”):
But of all of the members of Congress, to choose Chairman Thompson as the head of the so-called investigative committee when he had a lawsuit personally against President Trump alleging that President Trump was personally responsible for the events and for his -- Chairman Thompson's personal injuries, to pick that person as the head of the investigative committee just sends a terrible message. The process is important.

There are additional conflicts, I'm talking about the process. You have Mr. Raskin, Mr. Schiff on there who have written books about the event laying blame. They have a personal interest in ensuring that the committee comes out with the right result.
“All I'm saying is the American public deserves to have members of the committee who weren't marked by conflicts [of interest] having a full and fair investigation of all aspects of this. That's why I'm disappointed,” he said.
Lemon was clearly irritated that CNN viewers were exposed to damaging facts about Democrats and eagerly wanted to defend them before the segment ended. “Just real quick on something. I want to follow up on something you said … why does a messenger matter so much than the actual evidence and the act?” he wondered.
But as Schoen began to explain that “evidence can be skewed by the messenger” in that “they might only seek” the evidence they want, Lemon interjected to put words in his guest’s mouth to shift the topic to the DOJ.
“Not when it comes to the Department of Justice. Come on David. Not when it comes to the Department of Justice. The evidence matters over who the messenger is. Come on, let's be real here,” Lemon chided.
Schoen quickly realized Lemon had switched topics on him and noted that the DOJ has a long history of being politicized by every administration. Lemon interrupted again, this time to shout about the DOJ was supposedly only politicized by Trump:
SCHOEN: Oh, I hope that's right, but remember, the Department of Justice also has been politicized – in every administration quite frankly – and now you have as the number two person, Lisa Monaco –
LEMON: Not like the former administration, that's not true. That’s not true.
SCHOEN: Pardon? Pardon?
LEMON: The Department of Justice has not been politicized the way it has with the former administration –
“That's your view. I respect your view,” Schoen countered. But Lemon demanded that his opinion be treated as fact, asserting, “That's not just my view. Those are the facts. The evidence points -- all evidence points in that direction.”
At no point did Lemon present any evidence, let alone “all evidence.” Meanwhile, back in reality, President Biden’s DOJ was caught working with the White House and liberal special interests to smear parents attending school board meetings as “domestic terrorists.”
