Leftist Axios decided the 2022 midterm election is a perfect excuse to increase online censorship, screeching about supposed “post-Election Day disinformation.”
Election irregularities including mass machine malfunctions, paper shortages and reported voter suppression are already causing controversy as 2022 races are still being finalized. But Axios has a “solution”—censorship.
Considering that Axios’s only example of “violence” was the much-belabored events of Jan. 6, 2021, and that the outlet specifically attacked Twitter as allowing more “disinformation” under new CEO Elon Musk, it seems Axios’s reporting specifically targeted Republicans. No mention of Democrats like Georgia Democratic gubernatorial candidate Stacey Abrams who spent years calling Republican election victories “illegitimate.”
Axios moaned that supposed “election deniers” weaken “trust” in election results and “can incite violence or lead to politically motivated election ‘audits’ months later.” The outlet alleged, “‘Disinformation about the security of voting equipment is already spreading.’”
Axios touted the federal Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA) “Rumor Control site,” among other supposed trusted sources. “State and local election officials are the best source of information on election administration and results as officials count ballots.”

A recently filed federal lawsuit alleged the Biden administration colluded with Big Tech to censor Americans online during the COVID-19 pandemic. Axios even boasted about election officials’ efforts to “pre-bunk” supposed election-related “lies,” similar to the progressive United Nations’ #ThinkBeforeSharing campaign.
