A guest on your show accuses his political opponent of being as dangerous to children as a mass murderer with an AR-15. Surely, you challenge your guest for his outrageous slander.
Or not—if you're Jonathan Capehart.
On his MSNBC Sunday show, Capehart had on Beto O'Rourke. After losing to Ted Cruz in a senatorial run, then flaming out early in the 2020 Democrat presidential primary, O'Rourke is poised to make it a trifecta of failures, as he trails Gov. Greg Abbott badly in the Texas gubernatorial race.
So, in his closing statement in the segment, an apparently desperate O'Rourke dug deep in his slimebag, and emerged with this foul accusation.
"We have more school shootings than any other state because these kids are defenselss, not just against people with AR-15s, but a governor who will do nothing."
This was not the first time in the segment that we heard O'Rourke paint Abbott as the equivalent of a mass murderer. Earlier, Capehart ran a clip from the Abbott-O'Rourke debate earlier in the week, in which the Democrat—somehow trying to tie Abbott's initiative of sending illegals to Democrat-run states to the gun issue—said:
"This hateful rhetoric, this treating human beings as political pawns, talking about invasion of Texas and Texans defending themselves, that's how people get killed at the Walmart in El Paso."
Not a peep from Capehart in reaction to O'Rourke's hateful and outrageous allegations. Just a bland, "Beto O'Rourke, thank you very much for coming back to the Sunday Show," to end the interview. Don't miss the comedy of Beto claiming Greg Abbott's to blame for inflation in Texas!
Question: if, as seems likely, O'Rourke goes down to Abbott, what would be next for a three-time liberal loser? Since Capehart didn't find his slanders objectionable enough to speak up, why not join Jonathan as co-host of his MSNBC show?

O'ROURKE [during segment with Capehart]: We're going to get that that change that they [gun control advocates] are fighting for. They're going to help to make that happen. The voters of Texas are going to respond, and we're going to win on the night of November 8th.
JONATHAN CAPEHART: We have less than a minute left, congressman. Recent polling has you behind, despite your optimism, behind Governor Abbott by seven points. How are you going to close that gap?
O'ROURKE: In the closing days of this race, as every Texan knows that Abbott signed the most extreme abortion bill in the country. No exception for rape or incest. It begins at conception.
That we have more school shootings than any other state because these kids are defenseless. Not just against people with AR-15s, but a governor who will do nothing. Inflation going through the roof, and Abbott is the single greatest driver of it. People are going to vote for change. My job, my opportunity, over these next 37 days is to make that case to each and every single Texan. And you better believe that we will.
