Proving just how politically craven and hypocritical they were, at no point during their Wednesday prime time lineup did CNN or MSNBC tell their viewers about the sexual harassment allegations against Democratic New York Governor Andrew Cuomo. Put simply, it was a blatant double standard when contrasted with how they savaged conservatives like Justice Brett Kavanaugh.
It was also the same kind of obvious cover-up that the broadcast networks (ABC, CBS, and NBC) committed hour earlier on their evening newscasts. But while CNN and MSNBC were desperately trying to protect their golden COVID cafe from yet another damaging scandal, Fox News Channel host Tucker Carlson took him to the woodshed.
“Oh, we’re digging into the Andrew Cuomo file again. Got to admit we are enjoying it,” he quipped. “Here's the latest, an aide to Cuomo revealed earlier this month that New York was hiding nursing home deaths from the public. Now, another Cuomo aid, one that’s not in prison, has come out with a new allegation.”
Carlson then introduced chief breaking news correspondent Trace Gallagher to give his viewers an update on the story. And as he was nearing the end of his report, Gallagher drew attention to Cuomo’s own hypocrisy on dealing with sexual harassment claims:
GALLAGHER: Cuomo and his aides say Boylan is lying. A stark contrast to when Cuomo said unlike the Trump administration, he will always believe the woman. Watch.
CUOMO: And all they got was a deaf ear from President Trump in Washington, but New York passed the strongest sexual harassment law in the United States of America.
GALLAGHER: The very same governor, mind you, who during the confirmation of Judge Brett Kavanaugh said, quoting again, "To Dr. Christine Blasey Ford and all survivors of sexual assault, we believe you and we will fight for you."
What made MSNBC’s silence on the scandal even more ridiculous was the fact that their sister network, CNBC had a prime time report about it. And interestingly, it was former Fox News anchor-turned-CNBC's The News host Shepard Smith who shared the story.
“Under investigation for his handling of nursing home data. Accused of threatening a fellow Democrat. And now, a new controversy. Sexual harassment allegations against the New York governor, Andrew Cuomo from his former aide,” he announced with dramatic music during a tease.
Smith went on to detail some of the Governor’s alleged creepy and harassing behavior:
The New York governor, Andrew Cuomo now facing a new controversy. A former aide of his is accusing him of sexually harassing her, including unwanted kissing and touching while she worked in his administration. Her name is Lindsey Boylan and she claims that the Governor kissed her on the lips during a one-on-one briefing in his office. And that he would go out of the way to touch her on the lower back, arms, and legs. Boylan says her boss told her the Governor had a crush on her.
Cuomo denied all of this.
And the silence on CNN came after reports broke that the network had recently banned the lesser Cuomo, Chris “Fredo” Cuomo from reporting on his big brother. The ban seemingly now applies to all of primetime.

TRACE GALLAGHER: Hey, Tucker. Lindsey Boylan is the former special advisor to Andrew Cuomo as well as former deputy secretary for economic development. She says the Governor has kissed her on the lips, gone out of his way to touch on the lower back, arms, legs, and once smirked as he showed her a cigar box and talked about the affair between former President Clinton and Monica Lindsay.
Boylan also claims, during a plane flight in October 2017, the New York Governor suggested they play strip poker. Quoting, "Governor Andrew Cuomo has created a culture within his administration where sexual harassment and bullying is so pervasive that it is not only condoned but expected.”
Cuomo and his aides say Boylan is lying. A stark contrast to when Cuomo said unlike the Trump administration, he will always believe the woman. Watch.
