Pop music weirdo Lady Gaga has been doing her best to pin America’s current racial tensions on President Trump and on “everyday Americans” on social media. Though in her frenzy to condemn her political enemies, Gaga’s latest Twitter rant failed to mention the actual name of the criminal who allegedly perpetrated the crime that has incensed Americans.
As protests and riots continued their almost week-long run throughout the United States in response to the slaying of African American man George Floyd at the hands of wicked police officer Derek Chauvin, Gaga tried to paint the president as the face of current race relations problems, calling him a “fool,” a “racist,” and fuel for a “system already rooted in racism.” Ironic considering Trump has been vocal about the disgusting actions of the police towards Floyd and has communicated his respect for peaceful protests in honor of the slain man.
Still, it didn’t matter for the “Born This Way” singer who blasted the “racism” of Trump and many “everyday Americans” who are unequivocally “racist.”
Gaga began her May 31 rant by mentioning her fear that her words would incite more anger and violence, but still justified the intense emotions. In her long Twitter address, she wrote, “I have a lot of things to say about this, but the first thing I want to say is I’m afraid to say anything that will incite further anger, although that is precisely the emotion that’s justified.” Though, if current anger has already led to several cities and their residents being pillaged by brutal mobs, what does further anger look like?
The pop diva’s emotional tirade first blamed “everyday people in America” as racist; those who have “silenced” the “voices of the black community” for “too long.” “And no matter what they do to protest,” she stated, “they are still met with no compassion by the leaders that are meant to protect them.”
Of course, this never turned into an indictment of anyone who has spoken poorly of the African American community, like Joe Biden and his presumptuous “you ain’t black” comments from about a week ago. Nor did Gaga mention the man charged with Floyd’s murder. She just focused on Trump-bashing and critiquing the American system.
She continued, “We have known for a long time that President Trump has failed. He holds the most powerful office in the world, yet offers nothing but ignorance and prejudice while black lives continue to be taken.” Again, Trump was quick to condemn Floyd’s charged murderer and he also remarked on the “disturbing” killing of another African American man, Ahmaud Arbery, whom he described as looking like a “really good young guy,” three weeks ago.
Still, Orange Man Bad, of course. She continued, “We have known he is a fool, and a racist, since he took office. He is fueling a system that is already rooted in racism and racist activity, and we can all see what is happening. It’s time for a change.” Yes, so vote for Joe, or “you ain’t black.” What irony.
Gaga concluded her rant by pledging herself to ending racism, writing, “We MUST show our love for the black community. As a white, privileged woman, I take an oath to stand by that.”
Then she might want to start by focusing on the actual man charged in Floyd’s murder.
