A recent Univision News’ headliner report on the Coronavirus pandemic turned out to be a three-minute mashup of anti-Trump narratives, complete with four interviews and references to liberal sources, covering four different subjects, and one 10-second comment from a government official to reinforce their TDS rhetoric.
White House correspondent Janet Rodriguez – who that same day also tweeted from the daily White House Coronavirus Update: Is this still a #COVID19 briefing coming out of @WhiteHouse?!?!- tried covering all bases, but ended up struck-out by her flagrant bias.
Watch this portion where the reporter brings in one of the Comadres of the Impeachment, Deborah (affectionately labeled as Debbie in the on-screen graphics) Mucarsel-Powell (D-FL), along with Univision darling Senator Bob Menendez (D-NJ), in an effort to -quoting Mucarsel-Powell- “score political points”:
JANET RODRIGUEZ: The lines to apply for help across the country extend for miles and the wait will go on, because President Donald Trump now wants to see his name displayed on the checks to be sent by the government.
U.S. REP. DEBBIE MUCARSEL-POWELL (D-FL): It's typical of a president who has used this pandemic to score political points. Because he knows there's an election in November.
[...]
U.S. SENATOR BOB MENENDEZ (D-NJ): ...that if they were in a process where it didn't have the president’s name and now they have to add the president's name, there’s no doubt that it will delay the process.
In addition to taking a shot at President Trump for stamping his name on the 70 million economic stimulus checks going out this week and instilling fear among their viewers with fake news, Rodriguez reported on how upsetting the president's announcement to withhold funding for the World Health Organization is to Bill Gates. Additionally, there was also a brief mention of re-opening the economy and, last but not least, Rodriguez let us all know how mean Trump is for threatening “to force Congress to return to Washington as soon as possible.”

ILIA CALDERON: Greetings, how are you? More than two million people have become infected with the coronavirus, and over 25% of them are here in the United States.
JORGE RAMOS: Yesterday was the day with the greatest number of deaths in this country. And today the total fatalities exceed 27 thousand.
CALDERON: Meanwhile Jorge, hundreds of thousands of Americans continue to lose their jobs and are anxiously waiting for the emergency check approved by Congress and the White House.
RAMOS: And meanwhile Ilia, in an unprecedented move the Treasury Department has ordered that President Donald Trump's name be placed on the checks, as Janet Rodriguez reports.
RODRIGUEZ: In an unprecedented move, IRS officials will have to change the codes on the computers so that the checks are printed with the president's name on the left corner. There is no legal impediment to this. What is forbidden is that the checks bear the president's signature. In early April, Trump had denied that he would use his signature on the checks. The Treasury Department and the Internal Revenue Service deny that the change is delaying the delivery of 70 million checks that should go out this week.
U.S. SENATOR BOB MENENDEZ (D-NJ): ...that if they were in a process where it didn't have the president’s name and now they have to add the president's name, there’s no doubt that it will delay the process.
RODRIGUEZ : On the day that coronavirus infections exceeded two million worldwide, both the American Medical Association and Bill Gates labeled the president's announcement to withhold funding for the World Health
Organization as dangerous and wrong.
MORGAN ORTAGUS, SPOKEPERSON DEPARTMENT OF STATE: We will not use taxpayers' money to fund an irresponsible organization, this State Department spokeswoman told Univision.
RODRIGUEZ: This country grants up to $500 million annually to the organization. Their director today said that they will assess the impact and continue their mission without favor, nor fear. Trump alleges that the WHO protects China, that they have promoted disinformation, and they have not done enough to determine the origin of the coronavirus.
JUAN DECLET-BARRETO, SYNDICATE OF CONCERNED SCIENTISTS: This is a serious lack of respect for medical and health personnel throughout the world that risk their lives.
RODRIGUEZ: At this afternoon´s press conference, the president announced that tomorrow he will speak with the governors and publish the guidelines for reopening the economy, and that some states will be able to do so by May 1st. He also threatened to force Congress to return to Washington as soon as possible because, he says, they are not doing their legislative work. Back to you.
