While the liberal broadcast networks (ABC, CBS, and NBC) were busy fawning over the bitter ranting of radical climate teen Greta Thunberg at the United Nations on Monday, they completely ignored her cohorts in Washington, D.C. staging an illegal protest to shut down the city’s major traffic arteries, resulting in an all-day traffic nightmare in the nation’s capital.
“The President's critics say he does not take the threat of climate change seriously enough if at all. So, environmental activists decided to draw attention to the issue by shutting down, and I mean completely shutting down traffic here in the nation's capital,” Fox News anchor Bret Baier said during Special Report with a hint of frustration in his tone.
Correspondent Ellison Barber took over from there and shared what she saw while on scene at the illegal protest. “Hundreds of climate activists shut down at least four major intersections in Washington, D.C., disrupting the morning commute for thousands. Some chained themselves to ladders, others used metal pipes and wires to lock onto a painted sailboat a few blocks away from the White House,” she reported.
Perhaps the networks ignored the climate extremists because their “key demand,” as Barber reported, was the same radical Green New Deal proposal the media promoted. There was also the fact that “critics said the protest itself is problematic, installing traffic only causes more pollution” because of the thousands upon thousands of idling cars stuck on the roads.
The network news omission could also be because of the ridiculous tactics deployed by the illegal protesters:
D.C. Metropolitan Police say they arrested at least 26 protesters, most held their positions for hours, ignoring the honks of frustrated commuters and the heat of saws police used to cut through metal and get to the wires protesters used to tie themselves together.
The protesters had their arms through the pipe just over here, the one with the duct tape dangling off of it. They slashed the tires, all of it meant to be a hard blockade to slow down police efforts to remove the group. It has taken place about two hours to get to where they are now.
Barber actually spoke with one of the climate extremists with “Extinction Rebellion DC.” “We've been pushed to this point, it is very centralized in a few very wealthy hands, this crisis, but affecting those who are worse off. This is actually finally beginning to affect and get the attention of those who are in power,” the guy told her.
Instead of the reporting on their climate change friends, the networks where busy hyping Democratic calls to impeach President Trump. The CBS Evening News had two segments on topics related to climate change and still refused to mention the protests. NBC Nightly News reported on a lost dog being found while both ABC’s World News Tonight and CBS gushed about Prince Harry being in Africa.

Supporters say they voted, they called senators and this is their only option.
