If Donald Trump announced today that he’s going to find a cure for cancer tomorrow, liberals would whine and complain that a lot of people with medical careers would unfairly be put out of work.
But when Joe Biden announced that the laudable goal of defeating cancer would be a priority if he’s elected president, leave it to the women of The View to find some other liberal goal to worry about: Joy Behar on Wednesday warned that accomplishing such a task will be “much more difficult” if the top priority of climate change has not been dealt with first.
Behar asserted that “a lot of cancer is environmentally caused, and this president rolls back anything that will clean the air.” The co-host also claimed that the President and the former senator from Delaware would be “working against each other if they don’t also clean up the emissions” caused by “so much climate change and pollutants in the environment.”
Fellow co-host Meghan McCain, whose father and Arizona Senator John McCain died of brain cancer last year, disagreed by noting: ”They don’t know what causes brain cancer, for whatever it’s worth.” Nevertheless, she supported Biden’s goal by stating: “You can’t meet anyone who hasn’t been impacted by cancer, and I actually think putting that out on the campaign trail is something that, at least for me, is very relevant, and so I like it.”
The Democratic candidate lost his son Beau to brain cancer in 2015 and created the Biden Cancer Initiative after he left the White House the following year.
As NewsBusters reported, this is not the first time this week that the women on The View have rushed to Biden’s defense. On Monday, the panelists praised the Democratic candidate for changing his stance on the Hyde Amendment, which prohibits federal funds from being used on abortions.
We can only wonder what it would take for President Trump to receive praise from Behar.
