When it comes to denying Brett Kavanaugh justice, Democrats have now gone from the merely hyper-partisan and entered the realm of the utterly Kafkaesque.
On today's State of the Union with Jake Tapper, former Michigan governor and Christine Ford defender Jennifer Granholm actually said that the fact that none of the "witnesses" that Ford named have any recollection of the alleged incident, "actually corroborates Ford's story."
JAKE TAPPER: We now have four individuals who have come forward who were named by Professor Ford who were at that party. And all four: Kavanaugh, Judge, Smyth, and her friend, Leland Keyser, have all said they don't remember anything like this ever happened. And Leland Keyser, who says she believes Ford, says that doesn't even remember being at a party where Kavanaugh was present.
JENNIFER GRANHOLM: Right. And that actually corroborates Ford's story. Which is that she was so horrified by this that she kind of snuck out or slunk out of this apartment in a way that no one would no what happened because she was so utterly mortified.
Here's the Democrat standard of justice, one under which Kavanaugh can't win:
- Witnesses confirm Ford's account: corroboration!
- Witnesses don't confirm Ford's account: that's corroboration too!
Note: Tapper didn't challenge Granholm on her surreal statement, moving on instead to a discussion of President Trump's tweets on Ford never making this allegation until 2018.
He did, however, ask Sen. Mazie Hirono about the Keith Ellison accusations, with a clip of Ellison's denials.
