There’s been quite an uproar since Roseanne Barr announced that her character in the upcoming Roseanne reboot is a Trump supporter. On Thursday night, Barr battled liberal comedian Jimmy Kimmel, telling the ABC host that he was “f-[bleeped] far out” when it came to the country.
After Barr voiced her disagreement with Hillary Clinton’s foreign policy, a stunned Kimmel sputtered, “Listen never mind her foreign policy, how about captain wacko we got running the country here? I mean, the foreign policy? I'm shocked because I know you were a very liberal, socially liberal person in general.”
Barr shot back: “I'm still the same. You all moved.... You all went so [bleeped] far out you lost everybody!" She explained to the liberal host: “Seriously, a lot of your audience, and including me, I just want to say this, Jimmy, a lot of us no matter who we voted for we don't want to see our president fail.”
Barr went on to note she wasn’t a fan of Mike Pence, but related what happened when her Clinton-supporting daughter began weeping on election night 2016:
She just started weeping. And she's like, "This is the end... They're going to deport all of our gays" and all this [bleeped]. And I said, "Just chill. Just chill. You know, try to think positive for, like, why people wanted a change."
Barr concluded: “It's up to the people.... It's up to us to make this government work. No matter who is president, it's up to us to do our job as citizens.”
This kind of talk is rare on Kimmel’s show. The smug host previously lectured that “every late night host is a liberal” because it “requires intelligence.” How can you have a conversation with someone like that? Apparently, Americans are souring on his bile for anyone who may disagree with the celebrity. His hosting of the Oscars in February resulted in the lowest ratings in history.

12:17am ETJIMMY KIMMEL: Weren't you a good friend of Hillary Clinton's at one point?
JOHN GOODMAN: Yeah.
BARR: Yeah I was.
KIMMEL: You were? What happened? I know you very, very down on her. What happened?
BARR: Down on her?
KIMMEL: I think you accused her of being a murderer on Twitter, didn't you?
BARR: I did not! God! Yeah.
KIMMEL: Then, you know I will find that tweet in the next 40 seconds right?
BARR: I deleted it. [Bleep] you!
KIMMEL: So, that tweet you never tweeted and then deleted?
BARR: I had some disagreement with her foreign policy.
KIMMEL: I see. With her foreign policy. You like Trump's foreign policy?
GOODMAN: She had one.
KIMMEL: Dan's character is not —
BARR: Did you? Did you agree with her foreign policy?
KIMMEL: Listen never mind her foreign policy, how about captain wacko we got running the country here? I mean the foreign policy. I'm shocked because I know you were a very liberal, socially liberal person in general.
BARR: I'm still the same. You all moved.
KIMMEL: We did?
BARR: You all went so [bleep] far out you lost everybody. I mean, seriously.
KIMMEL: You’re probably right by the way.
BARR: Seriously a lot of your audience and including me, I just want to say this, Jimmy, a lot of us no matter who we voted for we don't want to see our president fail. [Applause.]
KIMMEL: Right. I know. And yet we've seen it over and over again.
BARR: You want Pence? You want Pence for the friggin president?
KIMMEL: No! I don’t want him either.
BARR: Well then zip that [bleeped] lip!
...
[Talking about 2016 election night.]
BARR: I have three daughters. They are all in their 40s. So the one daughter, she just started weeping. And she's like, this is the end of our, you know, they're going to deport all of our gays and all this [ bleep], you know. And I said, just chill. Just chill. You know, try to think positive for like why people wanted a change. And it's up to the people. Here's my two cents, damn it.
KIMMEL: Okay.
BARR: It's up to us to make this government work. No matter who is president it's up to us to do our job as citizens and if we don't like something, you know, let them know you don't like and then you got another election in two years get out there and vote. Change it if you don’t like it.
