Clinton Swears to Kimmel: If Trump Told Truth About Me, I 'Wouldn't Have a Worry in the World'

On Monday night’s Jimmy Kimmel Live!, Kimmel talked to Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton, keeping the interview light-hearted and friendly and defending her from her critics, as he usually does. He didn’t bring up the Clinton Foundation but did bring up the newly found additional 15,000 e-mails from Clinton’s private server. Kimmel asked if she was “concerned” about the e-mails being released before the first debate.

KIMMEL: The State Department -- I actually added it up today. The state department said that they have to release 15,000 e-mails by the deadline, a couple of days before the debate. Are you concerned about that?

CLINTON:No.

KIMMEL: Because I would be terrified if my e-mails were released.

Clinton then downplayed the issue, as she has done before, saying her emails were “so boring” and if anything, she was “embarassed” by that.

CLINTON: But Jimmy -- my e-mails are so boring.

KIMMEL: Yeah. Mine aren't.

CLINTON: I'm embarrassed about that they're so boring. So we've already released, I don't know, 30,000 plus. So what's a few more?

Kimmel then asked Clinton if she was worried about Trump finding anything in those e-mails that he could use against her. Clinton again downplayed the seriousness of the e-mails, suggesting that if there was anything incriminating, it was probably due to Trump ‘making up stuff’ about her.

KIMMEL: At the end, you're not concerned there's going to be something that Donald Trump is able to use against you, that the Republicans -- that comes in at the last second?

CLINTON: But he makes up stuff to use against me. If he would stick with reality I wouldn't have a worry in the world.

However, this was the only part of the interview that put Clinton on the spot, if you could call it that. The focus of the interview was on Donald Trump’s attacks against Clinton and her health. Comparing Trump to a schoolyard bully, Clinton claimed she was preparing for the debates by “drawing on her experiences from elementary school.” Kimmel joked “how great would it be” if Clinton’s first act as president, if elected, would be to deport Donald Trump to Mexico. Clinton laughed and responded that she would only do that for violent criminals. With that setup, Kimmel cracked: “Well, that second amendment comment may have qualified.”
