Of two days of convention coverage so far, Univision devoted only 19 seconds Monday to the endorsement by the 15-member group, led by Alfonso Aguilar, President of Latino Partnership for Conservative Principles, who for years has consistently distinguished himself in articulating conservative public policy positions in national Spanish-language television. The endorsement was made in a letter released on Monday morning.
Telemundo devoted only 24 seconds that day to the endorsement letter, folding it in a report by correspondent Lori Montenegro. These 24 seconds were immediately followed by 1 minute and 12 seconds of Lori Montenegro and José Díaz-Balart listing the absences of prominent Hispanic politicians like Senator Marco Rubio and Congresswoman Ileana Ros-Lehtinen, the absence of the Ohio delegation from the floor along with Governor John Kasich, and the absence of both former Presidents Bush, Senator John McCain and former Governor Mitt Romney.
