On Friday, not only did CBS This Morning skip any coverage of the annual March for Life in Washington D.C., the morning show actually attacked one of the event’s keynote speakers, Republican presidential candidate Carly Fiorina, for her “anti-abortion” views.
In a news brief at the top of the 7:30 a.m. ET hour, co-host Norah O’Donnell touted: “Our Des Moines affiliate, KCCI, reports on accusations Carly Fiorina used preschoolers as props during an anti-abortion speech.”
O’Donnell fretted: “The Republican presidential candidate ushered the children to the front of an Iowa campaign appearance. They sat near a picture of an unborn fetus. At least one parent was upset.”
Like CBS, NBC’s Today completely censored the pro-life protest on Friday. However, ABC’s Good Morning America did manage to mention it for a mere 14 seconds, as co-host George Stephanopoulos noted:
And the District of Columbia, too. They're expected to be hit the hardest this morning [by the blizzard] and that's where the March for Life is set to take place today, despite the storm warnings. Tens of thousands are expected to protest abortion on the anniversary of the Supreme Court's decision Roe vs. Wade.
It’s become sadly predictable for the media to ignore the March for Life year after year, but for CBS to actually attack one of the protest’s prominent supporters instead, marks a new low.
