En otra ocasiones, el sesgo se presenta al determinar cuáles hechos se presentan y cuáles no. Y a veces, el sesgo se revela mediante una presentación completamente capciosa de los hechos, Hoy examinaremos una instancia similar.

Media bias manifests itself in a number of ways. More often than not, bias is self-evident when examining the framing of a story. On other occasions, bias presents when determining which facts are presented and which are cast aside, brushed over, or omitted. And sometimes, bias is revealed via a gross misrepresentation of fact. Today we will examine a glaring instance of the latter.

These past two weeks, Univision viewers have witnessed two strikingly different approaches to the initial coverage dedicated to the two major party candidates for Vice President of the United States, Indiana Governor Mike Pence and Virginia Senator Tim Kaine.

The establishment media is back on its heels in the wake of some of the more explosive revelations within the hacked DNC e-mails recently released by Wikileaks. One of those e-mails, however, cut a little too close to the bone for Univision News.

But this is exactly what Fusion viewers saw last night as part of the Univision affiliate's coverage of the Republican National Convention in Cleveland.

Al iniciar su cobertura de la Convención Nacional Republicana de 2016, Univisión y Telemundo trataron a los republicanos de manera muy diferente. Al Punto en Univisión, conducido por Jorge Ramos, continuó con su habitual diatriba contra Trump, mientras que Telemundo tuvo un enfoque más equilibrado.

Presumptive Democrat nominee Hillary Clinton hasn't even chosen a running mate, nor is the process open to a vote. That hasn't stopped Univision from clearly voicing its choice for Vice President: Julián Castro, former mayor of San Antonio and current Secretary of Housing and Urban Development.
