Joseph Wulfsohn at Fox News pointed out that Conservative Twitter had a lot of fun with PolitiFact on Thursday when Bill McCarthy didn't see the double meaning in his tweet "PolitiFact is hiring! Come join our misinformation team."

PolitiFact’s aggressive defense of Biden and Harris popped up again on Friday. They tagged it as “False” for a Tik-Tok video that “Says Joe Biden and Kamala Harris distrusted COVID-19 vaccines.” The quotes in the video are all accurate, but they caused Facebook to flag the video as “Missing Context.” As in – the editing is too negative for their liking.

Here’s an easy test to see whether fact-checking websites can make any claim to be “independent” and nonpartisan in tone. Biden staffers claimed Republicans “defunded the police.” That’s a bald-faced lie.

On Tuesday, we saw yet another example of the buddy-buddy relationship between the liberal media and those they want to help work to elect. A day after Virginia’s Politifact published a takedown of a misleading ad from former Democratic Governor Terry McAuliffe’s campaign against Republican Glenn Youngkin, the outlet retracted it Tuesday under the auspices of “a substantial omission.”

At their recent “United Facts of America Festival,” PolitiFact interviewed Sen. Mark Warner (D.-Va). Their executive director Aaron Sharockman began with some light humor, telling Warner he was one of the more accurate members of Congress. Sharockman complimented Warner for having zero "Pants on Fire" rated claims.

Fact checkers are just as susceptible to bias and narrative-pushing as any other class of journalist. Despite this, major media organizations treat them as a source of reliably unbiased information — as do social media companies like FaceBook and Twitter, who have granted them the power to flag and remove anything they deem “misinformation.”
