On Wednesday night, President Trump had dinner at the White House with Senate and House Minority Leaders Chuck Schumer and Nancy Pelosi. And in the wake of that development, two of the Big Three Networks (ABC and NBC), who had been almost exclusively negative about Trump for the last several months, suddenly found nice things to say about him.

Time for another edition of Name That Party! Seattle’s liberal Democrat Mayor Ed Murray resigned on Tuesday after five people accused him of sex abuse. Unsurprisingly, CBS and PBS avoided identifying the progressive politician as a Democrat. Today co-host Savannah Guthrie, however described him as a “Democrat” and “vocal critic of Donald Trump.”

“The room goes wavy. My stomach churns. I can feel the bile in the back of my throat.” That reaction to Donald Trump winning the 2016 election didn’t come from Hillary Clinton’s new memoir, it came from the pages of NBC correspondent and MSNBC anchor Katy Tur’s book about covering the campaign.

What’s more important? A staff member for a Republican senator apparently “liking” a pornographic tweet on Twitter or a Democratic senator on trial for bribery and corruption, facing possible resignation and years in prison? If you answered with the first option, then you might work for NBC News. 

In a friendly softball chat with Hillary Clinton on Wednesday, NBC’s Today show co-hosts Savannah Guthrie and Matt Lauer did their best to feel the pain of the failed Democratic presidential nominee, even calling her new book about the 2016 campaign a “literary cleanse” designed to heal the wounds of her defeat.    

During an exclusive live interview with Hillary Clinton on Wednesday’s NBC Today to promote her new book about the 2016 presidential campaign, co-host Matt Lauer was eager to enable her to keep making excuses for her loss to Donald Trump. He urged the failed Democratic nominee to go further than she had in the memoir and say that Trump “stole the election.”  

Tuesday night’s telethon Hand In Hand: A Benefit for Hurricane Relief was bursting at the seams with celebrities, moving musical performances, and journalists from ABC, CBS, and NBC, so it was all the more disappointing when Beyoncé and Stevie Wonder promoted climate change as having caused Harvey and Irma.

Promoting her new book about covering Donald Trump during the 2016 campaign, on Tuesday’s NBC Today, correspondent Katy Tur told co-host Matt Lauer that the then-presidential candidate’s public criticism of her reporting was “jarring” and “scary.” Lauer shared her fear as he recalled the “intense feeling” he got at Trump rallies when the Republican nominee would attack the liberal media. 

Since Inauguration Day (January 20), Media Research Center analysts have reviewed every mention of President Trump and top administration officials on ABC’s World News Tonight, the CBS Evening News and NBC Nightly News, including weekends. As of August 31, coverage of the administration has totaled nearly 74 hours (4,418 minutes) of airtime, or about 39 percent of all evening news coverage.…
