During and after the cloture vote Friday morning to move forward with Brett Kavanaugh’s nomination to the Supreme Court, NBC’s Chuck Todd and Andrea Mitchell held out hope that unnamed Republican Senators could change their minds to oppose Kavanaugh and that, amidst the onslaught of pressure (read: verbal harassment from the left), voting against the Judge is thinking “beyond reelection.”

During an interview with Today show co-host Savannah Guthrie aired Friday morning, liberal talk show host Ellen DeGeneres reacted to allegations against Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh by blasting the judge for being able to “get away with” being “angry” during the Senate Judiciary Committee hearing in which Democrats were smearing him as a rapist.

On her show Wednesday morning, NBC anchor Megyn Kelly literally treated a New York Times story detailing a 1983 letter written by Brett Kavanaugh like a piece of garbage, crumpling up a copy of the letter and throwing it away. Even as all three broadcast networks, including her own, hyped the story, Kelly told viewers how “ridiculous” it was.

Federal Reserve chairman Jerome Powell expressed optimism about the “extraordinary times” for the U.S. economy right now at an event with business economists on Oct. 2. Powell said, “The economy is strong, unemployment is near 50-year lows, and inflation is roughly at our 2 percent objective, and the baseline outlook of many forecasters in and outside the Fed is for more of the same.”

In an interview with Republican Senator Jeff Flake and Democratic Senator Chris Coons on Wednesday’s Today show, co-host Savannah Guthrie feared that the FBI inquiry into allegations against Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh was being “rushed” and even suggested that the federal judge may have lied under oath during the Senate Judiciary Committee hearing a week earlier.

On Tuesday, just one day after NBC conducted an exclusive interview with questionable Brett Kavanaugh accuser Julie Swetnick, a panel of journalists on Megyn Kelly Today proceeded to dismantle credibility of the Michael Avenatti client. They all agreed that Swetnick’s story had significant “inconsistencies.”

Appearing on Fox News Monday night, South Carolina Senator Lindsey Graham blasted NBC News for airing an interview with Brett Kavanaugh accuser Julie Swetnick despite her serious credibility problems and the network being unable to corroborate any of her claims. The lawmaker told host Sean Hannity that the accusations were “a bunch of garbage.”
