On Friday’s Today show, NBC News acknowledged allegations from former investigative producer Rich McHugh that the network tried to kill reporting from McHugh and fellow journalist Ronan Farrow exposing the Harvey Weinstein sexual assault scandal. However, the vast majority of the paltry one-minute-eight-second report, 43 seconds (63%), focused on NBC’s denial of the claim.

On Thursday, ABC’s Good Morning America ran wild with Democratic claims of racism against Florida Republican gubernatorial candidate Ron DeSantis , hyping a “fierce backlash” and “firestorm” over the GOP congressman using a common expression during an interview on Wednesday while discussing the left-wing policies of his African-American opponent.

In contrast to CNN's weasel attempt on Tuesday to absolve themselves of their increasingly-dubious Trump Tower story, CBS updated their own CBSNews.com post and NBC’s Hallie Jackson wrote a piece explaining the change at NBCNews.com. All three networks on Wednesday touted the surprise win of Florida gubernatorial candidate Andrew Gillum. The liberal Democrat, endorsed by Bernie Sanders, advocates for the abolition of Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agency. But ABC, CBS and NBC skipped this radical position. The Orlando Sentinel on July 5, 2018 explained what the networks missed:

Davis appeared on all three networks, Wednesday morning. No one mentioned Davis’s long history of Democratic activism. However, this connection was most egregious when Good Morning America’s Stephanopoulos interviewed him. 

Following the conviction of former Trump campaign chairman Paul Manafort and guilty pleas from former Trump attorney Michael Cohen on various federal charges on Tuesday, all three network morning shows on Wednesday declared the president’s impeachment to now be the main focus of the upcoming midterm elections.

This morning, the news and cable networks were abuzz with talk of “Watergate” and impeachment, salivating over the idea that Michael Cohen’s plea deal would lead to Trump’s ousting. Over and over again, the media compared the betrayal of the President’s former personal lawyer to Nixon’s scandal, calling Trump an “unindicted co-conspirator” in a scandal that was as big as Watergate.
