Broadcast news networks ABC, CBS, and NBC continue to hammer away at the sexual assault allegations against Judge Brett Kavanaugh on Monday, using the seventh FBI inquiry into Kavanaugh’s past as the latest news hook to keep the Supreme Court nominee’s name in the headlines.

During a fawning interview with Democratic Senator Chris Coons and Republican Senator Jeff Flake on Sunday’s 60 Minutes, CBS correspondent Scott Pelley urged them to denounce Brett Kavanaugh for defending himself against partisan liberal attacks during Thursday’s contentious Senate Judiciary Committee hearing.

It’s become surprising when a network show portrays Christianity and religion in a somewhat positive light. The pilot episode of CBS’s new show, God Friended Me, does this and actually encourages some productive conversation between Christians and atheists.

John Dickerson, host of Face the Nation on CBS, is unusually confrontational with Republican Tom Cotton of Arkansas, a supporter of the nomination of Brett Kavanaugh. The question arises because the normally mild-mannered Dickerson was shockingly combative with Cotton. View the video, because the transcript alone doesn't do justice to just how sarcastic and confrontational Dickerson was.

One thing is perfectly clear: CBS's reboot of the show Murphy Brown would not have happened if Hillary Clinton had won the 2016 presidential race. While that fact is admitted, it is hard to imagine why this show is needed given the abundance of bashing on network television of President Trump, but still they do their level best to provoke.

In contrast to the lunacy and character assassination of Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh on CNN and MSNBC, CBS’s reacted to Kavanaugh’s opening statement Thursday afternoon by calling it “searing, painful and tearful opening remarks” filled with “authenticity” that made one wonder “how you ever fake that” as his life has been ruined.

Appearing on Thursday’s CBS This Morning ahead of the Senate hearing on Christine Blasey Ford’s sexual assault allegations against Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh, New York Times reporter Jodi Kantor claimed that Ford’s unsubstantiated claims were “growing stronger” and touted how there was no longer a “presumption of innocence for the man” in such cases.
