Anchors and reporters gushed over the singer finally using her influence to push a liberal agenda after having “avoided politics in the past.”

On Sunday’s 60 Minutes, correspondent Scott Pelley conducted a hostile interrogation of Republican Senator Susan Collins, aghast at her decision to support the confirmation of Brett Kavanaugh to the Supreme Court. At the same time, he treated Democratic Senator Heidi Heitkamp as a “rare” hero for voting against Kavanaugh.

Federal Reserve chairman Jerome Powell expressed optimism about the “extraordinary times” for the U.S. economy right now at an event with business economists on Oct. 2. Powell said, “The economy is strong, unemployment is near 50-year lows, and inflation is roughly at our 2 percent objective, and the baseline outlook of many forecasters in and outside the Fed is for more of the same.”

CBS This Morning on Tuesday amplified the network’s one-sided narrative when it comes to Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh. The show’s co-hosts wondered “what message” any kind of support for Kavanaugh sends to women. They also pushed the idea that women simply aren’t allowed to get angry. 

Over the weekend two former CNN big-wigs, founder Ted Turner and former long-time analyst Jeff Greenfield expressed disappointment in the direction the network has been heading. Turner thought they were spending too much time on politics, while Greenfield accurately noted that many of the people working there counted themselves as part of the anti-Trump “resistance”.
