In the Thursday evening newscasts ahead of the PBS Democratic Presidential Debate, the “big three” networks of ABC, CBS, and NBC largely focused on spinning the Congressional Black Caucus PAC’s endorsement of Hillary Clinton as “a major endorsement” and sign of “new momentum” following socialist Senator Bernie Sanders winning New Hampshire.

On February 9’s The View on ABC, the panel opened the show by discussing Beyonce’s Super bowl performance with its racially charged theme invoking both Black Lives Matter and the Black Panthers. Co-host  and CNN legal analyst Sunny Hostin was the first one to step up and gush over the pop star’s “extremely brave” performance.

In dual network special reports at the top of the 8:00 p.m. Eastern hour, ABC’s George Stephanopoulos and NBC’s Chuck Todd expressed their amazement at the “political earthquake” by the New Hampshire primary victories from Bernie Sanders and Donald Trump that will serve as “a shot across the bow at both political parties” despite the polls long predicting this very result.

Maybe ABC got a message from the higher ups that the show Last Man Standing was getting a little too conservative and anti-Obama for their liking. This week for the first time this season, in the episode "Home Sweet Loan," when Mike Baxter (Tim Allen) gave a great line mocking Obama, his hippy-dippy liberal son-in-law came back with a rejoinder defending him.
