As Homelessness Rises in Seattle and Elsewhere, National Press Snoozes
A week ago, Seattle Mayor Ed Murray, a Democrat, called homelessness in his city and the rest of King County a "full-blown crisis."
Based on the numbers presented in coverage of the area's situation, we can certainly add the Emerald City to the list of areas where homelessness has been on the rise. Odds are that many readers here didn't know that, because the national press hardly ever pays…

Nets Spend 2 Mins on Fall of Yemen's Gov't, But 11 Mins on Deflategate
On Thursday night, the “big three” of ABC, CBS, and NBC each covered the news that the United States-backed government in Yemen had fallen after rebels stormed the capital city of Sana’a and surrounded the presidential palace on Tuesday.
While the networks gave this story airtime, they only gave it to the tune of one minute and 59 seconds and avoided any mention of how President Obama had, just…

Will Media Show Wild Pro-Abortion Protestors Blocking Pro-Life March?
Left-wing activists arrested, say poor woman 'should get a f---ing abortion.'
It’s hundreds of thousands of pro-lifers versus 75 pro-abortion protesters – but whose message will the abortion-fawning media choose to focus on?
Protesters calling for abortion on demand blocked the pathway of the Washington, D.C. 42ndannual March for Life on January 22. In front of the Supreme Court, they yelled…

Salon: Obama’s SOTU Message Was ‘Bye-Bye, Reagan Conservatism’
Elias Isquith contends that “after eight years of George W. Bush,” America “was in such rotten shape that Obama had little time to do more than stave off the next crisis,” but that by this past Tuesday night, favorable economic developments gave Obama “an opportunity to boast of changing the ‘trajectory’ of the country like few presidents before him and none since Ronald Reagan.”

Matthews Whines of Boehner/Netanyahu 'Sabotage' of Obama Iran Policy
In a segment on his January 22 Hardball program, MSNBC anchor Chris Matthews made perfectly clear his disdain for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and for House Speaker John Boehner for inviting him to address a joint session of Congress on March 3.

Obama Apparently Unaware of Past Mockery by Comedian Interviewing Him
Barack Obama chose three YouTube stars to interview him at the White House following his State of the Union Address. One of those chosen was comedian Glozell Green. What makes this choice especially hilarious is that the White House vetters were apparently unawaware that Glozell performed some dead on mockery of faithful Obama supporters as well as Obama programs in the past.

MSNBC's Melvin to Roe Attorney: 'I Do Appreciate You'
When a cable-news host concludes an interview, it's customary to thank his or her guest by saying something along the lines of "I appreciate you being here" or "Thank you for your time."
But when MSNBC fill-in host Craig Melvin wrapped his January 22 Reid Report interview with Sarah Weddington, the pro-abortion rights counsel for "Jane Roe" in 1973, he not only thanked the former Texas state…

ABC’s David Muir Continues Network Fawning Over Clinton Baby
On Wednesday night, ABC’s World News Tonight and anchor David Muir restarted the media promotion of Chelsea Clinton’s new baby with Bill and Hillary Clinton as grandparents by spending 24 seconds informing viewers of the competition between Bill and Hillary for “who gets to read to Charlotte.”
Muir also took particular interest in how Hillary spends her time with the newest member of the Clinton…

More on 'Myth' of 'No-Go Zones': Recognized Even Before the '05 Riots
Earlier today (at NewsBusters; at BizzyBlog), I posted on the establishment press's apparent determination to punish anyone who dares to mention the existence — in their view, the "myth" — of "no-go zones" in France and other European countries.
The tactic seems to be working. The Washington Post's Erik Wemple, who criticized CNN for allowing guests to use the term and failing to challenge them…

Matt Taibbi: 'American Sniper' 'Idiotic'; Chris Kyle 'Kind of a D**k'
In a nasty screed against American Sniper on Wednesday, Rolling Stone contributing editor Matt Taibbi claimed the Oscar-nominated film was "almost too dumb to criticize" but proceeded to do so anyway, declaring: "Even by the low low standards of this business, it still manages to sink to a new depth or two."

Thanks to Blogger's Persistence, DC Releases Gregory Arrest Affidavit
A few weeks ago I relayed blogger William Jacobson's story about how a federal judge was forcing the Metropolitan Police Department in Washington, D.C., to release its arrest affidavit for former Meet the Press host David Gregory. Well, the MPD finally got around to doing so, and Jacobson has a follow-up blog entry with the aforementioned affidavit.

NBC’s Mitchell Slams Obama-Castro Comparison...Over Age Differences
Andrea Mitchell, NBC News Chief Foreign Affairs Correspondent, has been reporting from Cuba since Wednesday, covering the first face-to-face meetings between U.S. and Cuban officials in decades, and has used her visit as an opportunity to promote the country of Cuba. On Thursday, Mitchell interviewed former Cuban diplomat Carlos Alzugaray on her daily MSNBC program Andrea Mitchell Reports. The…

Nets: 68 Minutes for Deflategate vs. 34 Seconds for Terrorist Release
The three major networks have, so far, devoted a staggering 67 minutes and 49 seconds to obsessing over every aspect of whether the New England Patriots cheated in their AFC championship win on Sunday. Yet, only ABC allowed a scant 34 seconds to the Obama administration's release of five terrorists out of Guantanamo Bay and back to areas connected with extremist violence.

Limbaugh Demolishes Obama's Crowing Over Gas Prices, Energy Production
One of conservative radio host Rush Limbaugh's most important assets -- a great memory.
While telling his listeners yesterday that he didn't waste time watching the laundry list of alleged accomplishments and proposals that seldom get enacted, aka the State of the Union speech, he did catch an excerpt afterward that conveyed a sense of deja vu.
