During a report for Sunday’s NBC Nightly News on Iran marking the 39th anniversary of the Islamic Revolution, correspondent Ali Arouzi fretted that “all is not well in the Islamic Republic” as he observed: “The anniversary, usually marked with widespread displays of anti-Americanism, muted, with only a few U.S. flags burnt in protest.”

Here’s a surprise: an effete writer for the New Yorker is uncomfortable with patriotism, guns and the kind of men who join the military. So as you might imagine, Anthony Lane isn’t wild about Clint Eastwood’s new movie.

During Monday’s edition of CNN's At this Hour, guest host Brianna Keilar brought on the New York Times’ Science and Health reporter Donald McNeil Jr. to discuss the flu epidemic sweeping the nation. McNeil had previously written an article for the Times arguing that President Trump needs to do more to protect public health.

In a monumental gaffe, former Today co-host Katie Couric, in covering the Winter Olympics opening ceremony for NBC, betrayed epic ignorance about the Netherlands in attributing its rich tradition in speed skating Olympic performances to skating being "a mode of transportation" there. She then added that skating is important "because of lots of canals that freeze in the winter."

ABC and NBC couldn’t find time on their February 11 Sunday political shows to mention conservative criticism of a budget deal that adds roughly $300 billion to the deficit, bringing the deficit total to over a trillion dollars. Conservative lawmakers have expressed concern that this deal goes against a fiscally conservative platform that the President and many in Congress campaigned on.

On Monday, MSNBC’s Andrea Mitchell repeatedly redirected any coverage of President Trump’s infrastructure plan back to discussions about the domestic abuse allegations against former White House staffer Rob Porter.

Last week, CBS This Morning journalists warned not to politicize the story of a drunk illegal alien who killed Indianapolis Colts player Edwin Jackson. That instruction apparently no longer applies as the network on Monday focused on an illegal hiding in a Phoenix church, trying to stay with his pregnant wife and five-year-old son who has cancer. Talk about story selection. 

During MSNBC’s 11:00 a.m. ET hour on Monday, co-hosts Stephanie Ruhle and Ali Velshi were eager to provide a friendly platform for left-wing immigration activist George Escobar to slam the Trump administration’s “wildest anti-immigrant, racist, warped dreams” when it came to the debate over renewing DACA.

While traditionalists surely looked quizzically at the contemporary portraits that Barack and Michelle Obama commissioned for display in the National Portrait Gallery, one could count on The Washington Post and The New York Times to explain how wonderfully revolutionary the Obamas were to promote African-American painters to overturn the "bland propriety" of white traditions. 

If you thought that the liberal media’s horrid behavior swooning over the murderous North Korean regime and Kim Yo-jong at the Winter Olympics was just a weekend affair, you’re sadly mistaken. On Monday morning, Reuters published a pro-Kim piece that took until paragraph 16 to offer a concrete counterpoint that this distracted from their country’s human rights abuses.

On the tenth anniversary of Chris Matthews’ “thrill up the leg” comment with regards to then-candidate Barack Obama, the media’s coverage of Obama has not changed very much even in his post-Presidency.
