The Attacks on Conservative Talk Radio
November 6th, 2016 3:37 PM
Here we go again. Over at Business Insider, one-time Glenn Beck guy Oliver Darcy (he formerly of Beck’s The Blaze) and BI’s Pamela Engel have headlined "[t]he GOP must do something about the conservative media industrial complex if it wants to survive" in which they write that (brace yourselves) President Obama has correctly diagnosed the problem with the GOP.
WashPost Rampell Angrily Condemns 'Right-Wing Media...Bigoted Garbage'
October 27th, 2016 10:47 AM
Catherine Rampell, Washington Post columnist and former New York Times business reporter, had some no-doubt well-meant advice for the Republican Party in her Monday column: “Want to save the Republican Party? Drain the right-wing media swamp.” After consigning Donald Trump’s campaign to doom, and foreseeing the inevitable debriefing by Republican leaders, Rampell angrily blamed the media.…
David Simon Tweets N-Word, Gets a Taste of His Own Medicine
September 20th, 2016 2:29 PM
In a debacle The Root described as “When Your White Ally Goes Wrong” news, white David Simon tweeted the n-word and learned that what goes around comes around.
Upset that Donald Trump’s town-hall meeting on African-American issues will be hosted by white Sean Hannity, television writer-producer (The Wire, Treme) Simon tweeted the following:
New Republic Writer: ‘Deplorables’ Comment ‘Impolite’ But True
September 13th, 2016 2:30 PM
Hillary Clinton’s “basket of deplorables” comment isn’t just campaign fodder, believes Brian Beutler, who in a Monday piece argued that by telling “impolite truths,” Clinton pulled an already-loose thread and may have furthered the unraveling of the GOP. Assuming Donald Trump doesn’t become president, some Republicans will “wish to dislodge Trump and Trumpism from the party,” observed Beutler,…
Vox Writer: Anti-Trump Conservatives Partly Responsible For Trump
August 16th, 2016 11:33 PM
As you probably know, Sean Hannity and The Wall Street Journal’s Bret Stephens recently sniped at each other regarding Donald Trump. Those hostilities, suggested Zack Beauchamp in a Monday piece, were more on the level of an NFL intrasquad game than, say, Steelers vs. Ravens in the playoffs. Beauchamp argues that Hannity and Stephens, whatever their differences over the GOP nominee, have…

June 28th, 2016 4:17 PM
The network newscasts have shown no interest in an ex-Secret Service agent’s unflattering portrayal of Bill and Hillary Clinton’s time at the White House. Gary Byrne, author of Crisis of Character, appeared on Fox’s Hannity, Monday, but has been all but invisible on ABC, CBS and NBC.

Alan Colmes Fabricates Cruz's Absence From Scalia's Funeral
February 20th, 2016 9:41 PM
Liberal Alan Colmes, apparently miffed at people who have criticized President Barack Obama for not attending the funeral of Supreme Court Justice Antonin Scalia, asserted earlier today that GOP presidential candidate Ted Cruz would not be there.
Colmes got it wrong. Cruz was there, and it was known for quite some time that he would be there. Colmes, since the words "I'm sorry" are apparently…
Salon Pundit: Hannity Supports ‘Christian Version’ of Sharia Law
December 10th, 2015 9:09 PM
Between Christians and Muslims, which group poses the greater threat to religious liberty in America? To Marcotte, there’s an obvious answer: Christians. In a Wednesday Salon column, the lefty pundit claimed that “the big difference between conservative Muslims and Christians in this country is that only the latter have a massive, organized movement that is backed by an entire political party to…

Geraldo Denounces 'Squishy' Obama's 'Malignant Wishful Thinking'
November 17th, 2015 12:18 PM
Fox News Channel's Geraldo Rivera unleashed on President Obama on Monday's Hannity, after the American leader doubled down on his strategy against ISIS at a press conference earlier in the day. Rivera bluntly stated that "the President's feelings are way too squishy for me," and that "this is malignant wishful thinking on the President's part." He later contended that "to compare them to any…
Joan Walsh: GOP ‘Running Against Reality, Not Against the Democrats’
November 2nd, 2015 9:19 PM
Those who hope that Sean Hannity, Rush Limbaugh, and Mark Levin get to moderate a Republican presidential debate include Hannity himself, Ted Cruz, and Walsh. As they (almost) used to put it on Sesame Street, one of these persons is not like the others.
Walsh, who recently joined The Nation after more than a decade and a half at Salon, argued in a Friday article that such a debate would benefit…

Boom: Hannity Slams 'Phony' 'Hypocrite' Matthews for Race Baiting
August 25th, 2015 12:27 PM
Sean Hannity is sick of Chris Matthews's "hypocritical" pandering on issues of race, calling out the Hardball anchor, Monday, for smearing Republicans even as he protects MSNBC colleagues. Unloading, Hannity attacked, "...If that hypocrite, that phony, Chris Matthews, is so concerned about race issues, he has a colleague at his own network."
