After Tuesday’s presidential debate, ABC senior congressional correspondent Mary Bruce and World News Tonight anchor David Muir were opining from another planet, insisting Joe Biden kept “his cool,” was “the adult in the room,” and remained “fairly steady in temperament and tone” despite calling Trump “a clown,” “the worst President...ever” and told him to “shut up.”

In other announcements no one asked for, The View co-hosts shared their fantasy team of presidential debate moderators on Tuesday’s show. Perhaps not surprising, more CNN hacks made their dream list than actual ABC journalists!

In reacting to President Trump’s 2020 RNC speech on Thursday night, ABC made sure their coverage reflected the total opposite of how they basked in and marveled at Joe Biden’s speech. Instead, they decried it as a “no hope” speech “filled with” “darkness,” entitlement, “harsh attacks,” lacked energy, and dared to suggest Biden would reenact lockdowns if elected.

Along with their reaction to Vice President Mike Pence’s Wednesday night 2020 RNC address, the “big three” broadcast networks of ABC, CBS, and NBC had plenty of other takes, ranging from excusing the rioting in Kenosha, Wisconsin because suffragettes did the same to get the right to vote to calling the RNC “alternate realities” that support the Star-Spangled Banner to trashing…

On Thursday night after Vice President Mike Pence’s 2020 RNC speech, ABC journalists and liberal panelists were less-than-pleased he didn’t forcefully speak out against Sunday’s shooting of Jacob Blake in Kenosha, Wisconsin, condemn armed individuals defending businesses from rioters, and accept responsibility for the size and scope of the coronavirus pandemic.

In contrast to their reactions last week to night one of the 2020 DNC, the “big three” networks of ABC, CBS, and NBC were dismayed, perturbed, and upset by night one of the virtual 2020 RNC that they deemed a night that was almost entirely “apocalyptic,” “dark,” and thus the opposite of “upbeat and optimistic.” Along with their reaction to Senator Tim Scott’s speech, various network…

Following Monday’s 2020 RNC address from Senator Tim Scott (R-SC), ABC and CBS had praise for Scott’s “classic,” “compelling,”  “optimistic,” “personal,” and “positive” remarks, but they pivoted to smearing Scott by appearing to question his commitment to race relations. His crime? In the eyes of ABC and CBS, Scott didn’t talk about the Jacob Blake case, didn’t acknowledge the coronavirus…

As CBS and NBC were pulling out all their respective stops on Thursday to boost their preferred presidential candidate Joe Biden following his DNC speech, ABC engaged in the same, partisan campaign heralding the “sincere” Biden’s “finest hour” that “met this moment” in the form of a “compelling” and “stark speech” of “hope.”

As much as the broadcast networks would have liked to, they couldn’t spend all week talking about Barack and Michelle Obama during their coverage of the virtual 2020 DNC. That said, they were able to muster fawning praise Wednesday night for vice presidential nominee Kamala Harris’s “soaring speech,” ensuring Americans “saw [Harris and Joe Biden] as human beings.” 

Given that ABC’s World News Tonight bookended the newscast with over 11 minutes (11:04) on former Vice President Joe Biden’s selection of Senator Kamala Harris (D-CA) to be his 2020 Democratic running mate, it was obvious they were in love with their ticket.
